Too many toys

My dog has a lot of toys. Like, too many toys.

They used to sit cutely under my corner shelf, but my dog is the worst behaved dog in the world, so he ate the basket one day while we were gone. Great.

So, we went to Ikea in search of something to hold all his toys. There were a bunch of cute things we wanted to get, but knew that we couldn’t because demon dog would ruin all of those, too. Our only hope was a black garbage can.

Um…Cute? Not so much.

So, my husband suggested Mod Podging it. And Mod Podge I did.

I’m not very happy with the outcome. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because I used glossy Mod Podge (shudder) when I’m usually a matte kinda girl. Or, maybe it’s that you can see the lines where i pieced together the paper. Maybe it’s even because I feel like the top should have had the white paper. Hm…

Either way, it’s better than the black garbage can, and that’s a good thing.

All you Mod Podgers out there, are you a glossy or a matte kind of user? I’m curious. Sometimes, I feel like I’m the only one who prefers matte. Let me know your thoughts!

Mod Podge Monday- SHOES!

This week, I only had a tiny bit of Mod Podge left. I could have cried. Instead, I decided to put that little bit to good use! So, I Mod Podged some shoes. Yes, shoes!
I have seen some awesome ones around online, and I knew I just had to try it.

So, I went out and bought these pink shoes and some cute fabric.

(Please ignore my awful brown carpet)

Then, I started piecing the fabric and Mod Podging away (and falling in love more and more with the shoe by the second)

Here’s how they turned out.

I have an unhealthy love for shoes…And, I think these shoes just took that love to a brand new level.

So…Mod Podge and shoes. Huh. Who knew you could Mod Podge such random stuff?
What’s the craziest think you’ve ever used Mod Podge on?

**I’m adding this post to Kimba’s blog party. It have moved to Tuesdays, instead of Thursday. Yay!
I’m also adding this to Mod Podge Mania.

Mod Podge Monday-Simple Tin

For Mod Podge Monday, I decided to turn this simple guy

…into this.

It’s still pretty simple, right? Simple to make, and definitely simple as far as the eye goes.

All I did was mix some brown paint with some tan to make this great khaki color and painted the entire tin. Then, I cut out some paper for the lid (an “S” for my last name, of course) and some paper for the middle of the tin.

After that, I added some Mod Podge to not only the spots with the paper, but to the entire tin as well. It helped my paint have a little glossier finish. Of course, I couldn’t leave it sitting there looking all perfect after it dried, so I scraped some of the paint/Mod Podge off to make it look like its had a good life so far.

Apparently, I’m not the only one who liked how it turned out. This guy did, too.

Mod Podge Monday

Today for Mod Podge Monday I spruced up some plain salt and pepper shakers my husband and I got for our wedding a year ago.

Photobucket

It was easy, just some Mod Podge and some stickers and I called it good.

Sorry, the Mod Podge isn’t quite dry in the pictures. I was in a hurry to get to dinner!
