Mod Podge Monday- SHOES!

This week, I only had a tiny bit of Mod Podge left. I could have cried. Instead, I decided to put that little bit to good use! So, I Mod Podged some shoes. Yes, shoes!
I have seen some awesome ones around online, and I knew I just had to try it.

So, I went out and bought these pink shoes and some cute fabric.

(Please ignore my awful brown carpet)

Then, I started piecing the fabric and Mod Podging away (and falling in love more and more with the shoe by the second)

Here’s how they turned out.

I have an unhealthy love for shoes…And, I think these shoes just took that love to a brand new level.

So…Mod Podge and shoes. Huh. Who knew you could Mod Podge such random stuff?
What’s the craziest think you’ve ever used Mod Podge on?

**I’m adding this post to Kimba’s blog party. It have moved to Tuesdays, instead of Thursday. Yay!
I’m also adding this to Mod Podge Mania.

Mod Podge Monday-Simple Tin

For Mod Podge Monday, I decided to turn this simple guy

…into this.

It’s still pretty simple, right? Simple to make, and definitely simple as far as the eye goes.

All I did was mix some brown paint with some tan to make this great khaki color and painted the entire tin. Then, I cut out some paper for the lid (an “S” for my last name, of course) and some paper for the middle of the tin.

After that, I added some Mod Podge to not only the spots with the paper, but to the entire tin as well. It helped my paint have a little glossier finish. Of course, I couldn’t leave it sitting there looking all perfect after it dried, so I scraped some of the paint/Mod Podge off to make it look like its had a good life so far.

Apparently, I’m not the only one who liked how it turned out. This guy did, too.

What’s for Dinner?

My husband and I have been trying harder to meal plan. So far, it’s saved us a lot of money knowing what we’re going to eat before we go shopping.

Of course, the ripped paper on the fridge just didn’t do it for me. So, I cam up with this (sorry, another paper craft):

We absolutely love it! It’s so easy to write on with a dry erase marker and change them if I need to. No more crossed out dinners on my fridge list!

It was a cinch to make! I just took a piece of glass I had from an old frame, and mod podged (I love mod podge) letters and paper to the back. Then, I glued buttons on for the days. I wish I would have been borrowing the cricut still, because little written out week day names would have been cute. Oh well!

The Bottle Dilemma

Photobucket

My cute husband brought me a plain bottle home the other day. He told me that he had a “vision” of what I could do to it.
To be completely honest- I didn’t have the same vision. In fact, I had no idea what route I was going to go with that plain old bottle.
After lots of urging, Mr. Craft Pants finally talked me into trying his idea out.

First, I Mod Podged some paper onto the bottle. It looked cute, but a little plain. So, I added a bit of twine to it for a little more detail. Still, it looked too plain.
After adding the flower in, I still wasn’t happy. There was just too much empty space!
So, I raided the pantry and found some popcorn kernels-But, those were too yellow.

I decided to experiment by mixing the popcorn kernels with a bit of black stain from IKEA. That seemed to do the trick!

Since I am way too impatient, I didn’t let the kernels completely dry before putting them into the bottle. This stained the inside of the bottle black a little bit, and I absolutely love it!

Apparently, so did my parents’ dogs.

Isn’t my husband good at coming up with ideas?
