The threat

Yesterday, I came home from work to find this gem on the door.


It reads "Next time it won't be in a bag" I'm scared.

After I got over the official "huh?" stage it dawned on me to take a peek inside the bag. Yup. Dog poo.

Apparently, we have neighbors who think my dog poops on their lawn all the time. Definitely not true--How do I know this? Well, my dog is stupid and never poops outside, it's always gotta be on our bathroom floor (sick, I know--we're working on it!)

Either way, it's a pretty funny threat and it made my day.

[Future]Craft Room

I'm not sure if you've heard--But, I am moving next week.

Okay, okay. It's not FOR SURE yet because our loan is still in underwriting, but I thought if I told you I was moving, I would have better luck.

So, I'm moving next week.
I haven't started packing yet, but I WILL move. Okay?

Alright, now that that is established, I feel the need to tell you that my future new home (which, I'll be moving into next week, by the way) is going to have its very own craft room. Seriously. I am so excited. I guess this is the one good thing that comes from not having any kids-- I get a craft room! A place to CRAFT! yayayay (this also means I will have to start crafting again, but we will cross that bridge when we come to it).

Thankfully, we have the internet. More importantly, we have Google. Which means I can search for craft room inspiration at any given time. Life is good.

I hate these types of posts I'm about to do. Like, absolutely hate. I feel like they're completely self-centered and annoying. But, due to a high volume of questions, I thought I should answer a few on this here blog.

About Crafting.

Q: What's your favorite Mod Podge to use? Why?
A: I'm a big fan of the Matte finish. I feel like it makes projects look more put together and I also think it sticks a LOT better than Gloss does.

Q: Do you sew?
A: I know how-- a little bit. But, I'm scared to get really into it for some reason. It's one of my goals to get over that in the near future, though.

Q: Where do you get inspiration for your crafts?
A: Everywhere. Seriously. I get inspiration in the most random places sometimes. Once I get that inspiration, I have to run with the idea or else it never gets done.

About Blogging

Q: Why do you blog?
A: I blog because it makes me happy. I have like, 5 private blogs that no one knows about. It feels good to get on those blogs and type away. I think it's a great outlet for me. Not to mention, I love the people I meet through blogging.

Q: Do you hope your blog gets really big one day?
A: It would be cool, but it's not the reason for this blog. I write this blog, in particular, because I like to craft and I like to blog. A craft blog just seems logical, right?

Q: Who designed your awesome blog background?

About my Life

Q: I bet you have a lot a free time since you don't have kids. Is that true?
A: I have two jobs (substitute teacher and after school teacher), and I also go to school full time.

Q: You've been married like, 2 years right? So why don't you have any kids?
A: (Ouch) Short answer: we can't get pregnant
Long answer: We were pregnant with twins last February (they took 8 months to conceive) and miscarried. We've been trying ever since with no luck. Yes, we're seeing doctors. Yes, we're thinking about other options. It's not our choice to be childless.

Q: Anything exciting going on in your life right now (maybe like, a pregnancy?)
A: Big nope to the pregnancy (see above) but big YES to exciting things going on in our lives. We are in the process of buying our first house, and will hopefully close on the 25th! Next Thursday!

The tree.

I've been a bad blogger lately. I hope you don't hate me. I just haven't been very inspired lately and, can I be honest? I didn't feel like blogging. I'm still kind of in the funk so I hope you can bare with me and my sporadic blogging. I won't quit the blog (mom), it'll just be slow.

ANYWAY!

I did manage to get a little project done yesterday during the Super Bowl. A tree jewelry hanger.

Super easy.

Just a branch (already dead), a can (Mod Podged with paper, of course), some decor beads (which, I'm not totally loving for this project) and call it good.

It's Wednesday... Really?

I'm awful. Seriously. I had no idea it was Wednesday until Abbie emailed me her post for the week. How embarrassing.
Anyway, just thought I'd check in and say hi. I probably won't be posting until next week due to school, work, and a nasty cold. Hopefully you'll still be here when I get back.

I've got 3 this week: 2 re-crafts and a new one.

1. I Mod Podged these drawers a few months ago, but a couple of weeks ago one of them broke (my daughter pulled it out onto the floor and then my husband stepped on it - snap!). I bought a new set of drawers and re-Mod Podged one. The world in now right again and I have my vanity back to the way it once was.

2. Then my sweet baby girl hit the previous yellow frame on the floor (1 1/2 yo are so destructive, yet so stinkin cute!). Glass every where and the frame split in half. So, I painted a bigger frame yellow. I really like how this one turned out.

3. This has been something I've wanted to do for a couple of years. I love walking into homes and finding a wall or a doorway dedicated to showing the growth of the kids that live there. So I made a portable growth chart, since we have many moves in our future. I like it! And I think it will be something my kids will cherish.
