When I got it home, my husband told me it was really cute (after I asked him at least five times, "hey, isn't this really cute?") but that he thought it would scratch the door, which we just painted due to a vinyl attempt gone wrong.
I decided to pout for a bit. Then! I remembered that this wee little problem could be fixed in minutes. I ran upstairs (really) and grabbed my glue gun, scissors, and some felt, and got to work on the living room floor.
Here's the final product.
I definitely didn't worry about how it looked, I just wanted to finish as fast as possible. I'm the first to admit it's ugly, but hey! Now it doesn't scratch my door, so I can put it up whenever my heart feels the need.. Plus, it's not like the neighbor's will see that side, anyway. And, that's all that matters, right?

Great fix! I'm the same way with my boyfriend after I finish making a stuffed animal..."Hey, what do you think? Really, doesn't it look nice? Doesn't he have a cute face? Hey, stop playing video games and look at what I did!" LOL

Great idea! I have the same problem, had to paint my door because of a heavy jingle bell wreath that I loved but that scratched the crap out of the door. Probably couldn't felt that, but I haven't dared hang anything up since then, but now I'll just do this to all my awesome wreaths. Thanks!
i want one! thats adorable!!
Smart thinkin!
Stopping by to say I LOVE your blog! Lots of sassy ideas! I would love it if you would add me to your blog list... you are already on mine! :)

(cause your blog is a sassy site!)
I have a big wood thing hanging on my door too. It is really loud when you open and close the door. I did the same thing. Except I didn't have any felt in the house so I cut up a ShamWow (same thing right??) and glued it to the back. 6 months later, it is time to reapply because the soft cushioniness is gone.
That is so cute! Whst a great idea! Im now following from Friday bloghop!
LOVE the title of your blog...just had to stop by!!! Great idea for the sign!!
What a great idea :) I'm totally the same way with wanting my husband to think something is cute and he usually has a similar "it'll scratch. . ." comment. I love quick fixes that make you and your spouse happy!

It is super cute, and you did not even have to ask me once! Don't you just love husbands! I have one of those too!! Just visiting from Girl Creative and New Friend Friday! Love your Blog! Best Wishes!!
first of all, I saw the title of your blog on My Mush Push and almost died laughing!
Great idea with the felt! I've found that my door thingys tend to hit the door at one little point, so I just stick on a piece of those felt chair pads (that keep the legs from scratching the floor).
