Today, we got new neighbors. Two, in fact.
This alarming news sent me into panic mode. What if they had a cuter wreath than I did? I could NOT let that happen. So, a crafting I went.
I hurried and pulled out an awesome Dollar Tree wreath, some cute Martha Stewart (wish I were her) paper flowers, yellow paint, and some hot glue and got to work.
I started by painting my wreath yellow, cause you know...Who wants green showing through a YELLOW wreath? Not me. After the first 1,000 coats, I realized that the green still showed through the yellow paint, and that now I was left with a weirdish yellow green. I wondered to myself for a few seconds why I didn't just spray paint it...Then I remembered, I'm poor. So, while sulking, I began to glue my little paper flowers to my awful yellow-green wreath.
As I was gluing the flowers on row by row, it quickly dawned on me that there was no way that this wreath would withstand the wind at my house. No way at all. I thought about giving up entirely. I mean, if it couldn't go outside how would I show up my new neighbors?
Instead, I kept on truckin' and ended up with this little lady.
I kind of like it, actually. Plus, I think it looks alright in my mudroom area. Take that, new neighbors.
