Banana Swirl Icecream

My daughter is obsessed with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood on PBS. And by obsessed, I mean ooooobsessed. Bolded, underlined, spelled weirdly-The works. I completely attribute her being potty trained to Daniel Tiger. Needless to say, I’m obsessed with the show as well. Anyway, on one of the episodes it’s all about trying new food because they might taste good. Of course, there’s a catchy jingle with it, and that song is like magic when sung during dinnertime. One of the “new foods” they make in this particular episode is Banana Swirl ice cream. Every since we saw the episode, Eloise (my almost 3 year old) has been talking about making it nonstop. After months of begging, we finally go around to it today! So, I thought I’d share with you the very complex recipe so that you can share it with your littles, as well. Or-Maybe just fill your need for ice cream even though you’re on a diet? Either way, this recipe is a keeper. First things first, you’ll need to gather your ingredients. Seriously. Bananas. That’s all. A blender helps, too-But, I’m sure if you don’t have one you could totally mash those by hand. Then, you’re going to need to enlist the help of a very cute toddler. Have them peel the bananas while you chop them into 1-2 inch slices. Once they’re all chopped, just throw them in a bag and put them in the freezer for a few hours. After they are all frozen, take them out of the freezer, stick ’em in a blender, and go to town blending until they are smooth. Then, serve it up (… Don’t judge me for my styrofoam bowls, okay? All our stuff is still in storage. It’s a rough life!) Easy and healthy, right? Thank you, Daniel! And, because I have been wanting to try out this recipe plugin, here’s a printable version of the recipe. I mean, incase you can’t remember all the steps or something!

I’m back! — Really this time!

Hey everyone.
After a very long break from this blog-I’m back.

I have missed crafting and creating and kind of feel like it is something I need to have in my life to keep me sane.

My life has changed quite a lot since I last wrote on here.
I have a two year old (okay, she’ll be three in just a few weeks. I’m in denial) and a one year old. And, in the midst of chasing them all over the place- We took a huge risk and moved from our humble home in Utah to good old Los Angeles. It has definitely been a lonely road around here (read about my friend issues here) -But, I am learning to adjust to life here and am eager to start feeling like myself again. Hopefully crafting will be just the thing to “cure” me.

I can’t wait to reconnect with all of you lovely readers.
I have missed you all so much, and I’m so excited about the posts I have coming up.

I just moved over to WordPress and gave my site a brand new design — But, I know there are still a lot of tweaks I need to do. The pictures in my previous posts are awful, and I hope I can go back and fix most of them someday. But, we’ll see.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you leave a little comment on this post so I know my RSS links are still working? Also, if you run into any posts that need to be redirected, please let me know!

Is this thing on?

Hey everybody!
It’s been a long time since I wrote here last, right?
Crazy how life gets with a new baby (can you still call a baby “new” when she’s 6 1/2 months old? Hm…) .

But anyway! Today I just wanted to share with you guys an amazing jewelry company I found while perusing Etsy for a ring to replace my wedding ring.
Behold — Tula Jewelry!
The first thing that attracted me to her site was her amazing handmade and sustainable jewelry. Seriously, everything she makes is just beautiful. The thing that made me stick around, though? Her prices! Seriously, her rings are nearly 3x less expensive than diamond rings I’ve seen elsewhere.

I picked out this lovely ring (the Diamond Micropage Stacking Ring) because I just loved the simple beauty, but now that I have it on my finger, I’m already thinking of ways to buy another one to stack with it. Maybe something like this?

Or something like this? Seriously, the options are endless. I’ll probably go broke on Tula Jewelry. But, at least my fingers will look stylish, right?
Really, go check her shop out.
You won’t be disappointed, I promise!
