If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love a good pun. I am basically the cheesy queen, and I’m always making ridiculous jokes. Some people find it endearing, other people roll their eyes. Hopefully you are part of the first camp, because, guys. I have the cheesiest back to school teacher gift ever.

Homemade vanilla with special sayings on them. One says “you’re EXTRACTly the teacher I wanted this year!” while the other reads “do me a FLAVOR and have a great school year”.

I wish you could have been there in bed with my husband and me when we came up with these. We were pretty certain one of us was going to laugh ourselves to death. It was just really really funny, and I am so happy I have someone just as punny as I am to share this crazy life with. But I digress.

Who wouldn’t love some homemade vanilla? It’s delicious and so easy to make (check out my how to on my other blog, Life Unfluffed).

Once you’ve made your vanilla, just pour it into some bottles (I bought these ones, but in hindsight I sort of wish I would have purchased clear ones!), print off the labels onto sticker paper, cut them out and stick them on! Easy as pie.

I also made a little label for the back side of the jars because I wanted there to be a place for names and also for the date that it was made. Homemade vanilla lasts indefinitely, but I think it’s a fun little thing to have on there. Be sure to tell your child’s teacher if the vanilla hasn’t aged long enough, though (usually about 6-10 weeks).

Breanna, girl! I’m so happy you appreciate my blog name. Sometimes I get a little self conscious and worry people don’t get my humor!

Oh my gosh, could these be more adorable? I totally love this idea. We’ve got to do this for my daughter’s teacher.
