The ol' wiping method worked great for me. And, to be honest, I always thought the shopping cart covers other mamas were using were a little ridiculous. That is, until I realized that cart covers were for more than just protecting from germs!
Let's set the scene, shall we? Okay...So, we were walking around Home Depot. Just me, the mister, and the baby. Baby girl was buckled into the cart and having a grand ol' time
See? Adorbs.
Then, out of nowhere, she lost her balance and smacked her head into the cart. I totally won worst mom award right then. My poor baby was screaming and had little bruises from where the cart hit her. OW!
That's when I vowed to start looking into cart covers. And, can I just say, thank goodness for Balboa Baby? They stepped up to the plate and sent me an adorable cart cover to review (in the pattern Suri).
I was so surprised when it came the next day (!!!!) in the mail. They had such great customer service. It was the first thing I noticed about the company.
Next? The shopping cart cover was SO.COOL. Not only was it the best pattern ever, it was also completely compact. In fact, it even folds into itself to form a little bag! How great is that?
Of course, we had to rush to the store and try it out. Baby E loved it! She was squealing the whole time. I especially love how soft it is! I don't have to worry about baby girl losing her balance and whacking her head anymore. The padding makes her feel secure (and protects her little body from harm), while not being too bulky.
Did I mention it even fits onto high chairs?
Really, I love this thing and am so grateful I got to try it out. I bring it every where now, and can't go more than a few steps in the store without people asking me all about it!
If you're in the market for a shopping cart (or high chair) cover, this one is for you!
So, was this post too long? I got a little excited. Sorry!
Here are the cliff notes!
Balboa Baby Shopping Cart Cover
pros:-Easy to use.
-Adorable.
-Just the right amount of padding.
-Two loops for toys to hook onto (no more bending over to retrieve thrown toys. YAY!)
-Folds into itself to form a perfect little bag.
-Can be used on a highchair as well.
cons:
-I wish it came with instructions. I mean, it was easy to figure out after a bit, but the first time I used it I was a little lost.
-I should have gone with a darker color. Shopping carts are grosser than I thought!
**Balboa Baby gave me this product to review. This post contains my actual feelings about the product, and they had no say in what I wrote in this post**

I seriously considered buying this exact cover for months. I have the balboa baby nursing pillow, and I loved it. I ended up not buying it and now i am sad, because it is so cute!
ReplyDeleteshe is absolutely adorable!!
ReplyDeletei have a shopping cart cover as well, love love them but mine is really bulky
I don't have babies anymore but does this thing fit over the entire basket? If so how to do put stuff in there while shopping? It looks neat but not sure how practical.
ReplyDelete@deb-Dang! Which one did you get up getting? Or, none at all?
ReplyDelete@Rhiannon- Thanks! That's annoying that yours is bulky! I was afraid that's how all shopping cart covers were. Thankfully, Balboa Baby's isn't at all, but it still has enough padding to be comfy and prevent hitting heads on the cart.
@Sommer- It doesn't go over the entire basket! It just goes over the part where children can sit. The rest of the shopping cart is just how it normally is.
I take it from the other comments that this is not a new idea? Well it is new to me and I think these should be mandatory for every little bundle of joy. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be investing in one when we have babes number 2 ! Thanks Erika :)
ReplyDeleteYour little E is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteI didn't end up getting one at all. Lame. But I am glad to know how you like it, because I just couldn't decide if it was a practical purchase or not.
ReplyDeletethese are sooooo cute! I just wish they were cheaper!
