Guest Post- love notes by lauryn

hello
oops! i craft my pants readers!
i am lauryn and i blog over at:
i love anything artsy. it all just lights me up :)
i love to create home decor and graphic designs.
i sell some of my creations at lulu’s little loft (my shop).
and if it’s not going on etsy, it goes on the blog.
i blog about crafts, art, diy, home decor, fashion, and beauty.
i am soo excited to be over here today. erika is so sweet to have me.
a couple of months ago, my cute little sister showed me a SWEET way
to transform an envelope into a treat/gift pouch:

it really is awesome. and so easy.

shall we see what to do?

all you need:
an envelope
any size depending on what you will use it for
a glue stick
scissors
any embellishments you want to add!

start with your envelope:

glue the flap shut:

cut off abou half inch of one side end for an opening:

fold and score each side except for the end you cut.
(it doesn’t matter the direction you fold it, you just need the mark.)

make sure to score the folds well.
it makes the next part easier.

no you are going to open the envelope
and sort of squish out your folds so are flat and make a square:

you will have the corner flaps left up:

put some glue on the flaps and fold them to the bottom:

and that’s it!

add embellishments of your choice.
i shaped my opening and added paper & doodles to make it look like a popcorn bag.
i thought this would be such a fun idea for giving a movie gift card.

just slide the gift card to the movies right in!

here’s what it looks like from the back,
you can see the envelope fold.

thanks so much erika for having me,
i’d love for you all to stop by my place and take a peek
if you get the chance!

Fall Soup Roundup

In celebration of the first day of fall (last week), I decided to create a fall soup round up. Yuuum. I can’t wait to make a few (or all!) of these. They all look delicious, don’t you think?

1. Turkey Chili Taco Soup.
2. Chick Pea Soup.
3. Squash Soup.
4. Sweet Potato, Squash, & Apple Soup.
5. Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
6. Winter Squash Soup with Gruyere Croutons
7. Spicy Lentil Soup
8. Husband’s Healing Stew.
9. Tomato Curry Soup.
10. Pasta e Ceci Soup.

Are you as excited for Fall as I am?

Easy Bow Headbands

I decided to get a little more comfy with my sewing machine today. I mean, I know it’s not amazing or anything-But it’s progress! My machine was even threaded this time before I began sewing, and that’s a feat in and of itself, right?

I made these little bows for my girl.

They look huge in the picture, right? They’re not too bad in person, though.

See? Here’s a crappy cellphone picture to prove it.

I love how they accent her hair. And, the elastic I used is so comfy and soft.

I dub this project a success!

“Tute”-in Tuesday

It’s that time again! Time to link up your tutorials (that you haven’t posted here yet)! I can’t wait to see what you lovely readers have come up with now. Maybe you’ll be the one I mooch off of next Monday?

Here are the rules:

1. Please use the permanent link to your post when you are linking up (just click the post you want to link up, and it should take you to her perma-link…Feel free to email me if you can’t get it to work, and I’ll try to give you some better instructions.)

2. Please be sure to visit other people who linked up and leave ’em a nice comment. Because, come on, we all love comments. It would be awesome if you left something more than “nice blog. www.oopsicraftmypants.net”…But, it’s up to you!

And, this is optional, but:

Let your readers know about the party so they can join in on the fun! Here’s a button, if you want to use it I wouldn’t be opposed.
