So, I am sitting on my floor right now. Yeah--My floor.
You see, we have no couch. In fact, we don't even have a table or ANY chairs, for that matter. We decided that we wanted to start out in this new house all fresh.
Yeah, well that was an awful idea.
Dumb, even. I really don't suggest taking all of your old furniture to the thrift store--even if it was from a second hand before and you don't want to "mess your house up with ugly furniture"...Trust me on this one. Ugly old furniture is better than no furniture at all. Ya hear me?

When my mother moved to her new home from a "rental" with used furniture, she and my father sat on the floor for three years. Then, they were able to furnish the house with furniture that they really wanted. It was beautiful furniture and lasted for a very long time and then was passed along to three different families. Yes, it was quality furniture. I don't know if they make furniture like that anymore. We've always had used furniture over the years...we broke down about three years ago and bought new. Sure, it was beautiful, but you should see my husband's recliner. It has been fixed three times. We did invest in the extended warranty. Now, it's completely shot, and my husband has to call again. Be careful when purchasing. Be happy when your home is beautiful!
I know what the lack of furniture thing is like. My boyfriend recently moved out of his parents house and skipped the apartment step (ie furnishing a small place) and just bought a house. For the first while it had a bed (single bed in fact) and a computer desk. We would make a "nest" using all the blankets and pillows in the house to watch tv. Kinda fun actually. :) Best of luck finding supporters!
Ha! I did the same thing in our last house. We didn't have furniture for months! It was embarassing one day when we had lived there for a WHILE and my neighbor came by to help me carry something into the house... Uh, yeah, we don't have furniture!

I know how you feel. Years ago me and the husband moved into a new apt and decided to get rid of the old living room furniture and buy new. Dumb idea. We had to sit on the floor for a couple weeks until the new furniture could be delivered. I'll never do that again :)

We did the same exact thing when we moved and ended up buying cheap ikea folding chairs until we found the perfect couch...yeah, our old couch was better!
