Sorry, I don't have a Moochin' Monday for today. I figured since it's Thanksgiving week, I could take the week off. I mean, right? There will be "Tute"-in Tuesday tomorrow, but other than that--The schedules goin' right out the window. I hope that's okay with you!
Maybe I can bribe you into thinking it's okay? Hey?
__________
About a month ago, I was contacted about doing a review on a few KLUTZ books. I just had to say yes, because I am a sucker for books. And, on top of that--I'm a sucker for hobby books. Hobby books for little kids, even.
So anyway, fast forward to a few weeks ago. I received a lovely package in the mail. It was exciting. I mean, besides the fact that the UPS man woke up my baby. But, I mean...Minor details.
To my pleasure, these books were included:

Stamp Art makes stamping simpler -- and more creative -- than ever. Stick the included shapes on the see-through acrylic block to create your own one-of-a-kind stamp design. Full of inspirational artwork and instruction, this stamp-right-in-it book shows how to create animals, flowers, houses, aliens... anything you can dream up.

Draw the DC Universe is a complete how-to-draw package, jammed with expert tips and techniques, tons of practice space, and of course, a universe of DC heroes and villains. The draw-right-in-it book comes with everything you need: a sketching pencil, a drawing marker, artist’s pencils in six colors, a big block eraser to fight crimes against the page, stencils, and translucent overlays scattered throughout for can’t-fail tracing activities.
Want a sneak peak inside the books? Go here for Draw the D.C. Universe, and here for Stamp Art!
I could barely contain my excitement when I saw them! I was especially excited to try out the Stamp Art one. So, me and Mr. Crafty Pants broke it out one night after the babe was in bed.
We had a blast looking at all the fun pages and trying to recreate the images from the book. It was fun to make our own designs, as well.
Here are our finished products:
Meet Fangrog and his 'lily pad of doom' (with the unfortunately placed spots. Oops!) and Sir Woofington III.
I know, I know! Impressive, right? We're pretty talented in the stamping department over here. I won't tell you who made which one because, we're kind of in a crazy betting war about who's the best stamper. More on that in a second!
Honestly, this book was so much fun. It entertained us for hours, which was a nice break from the T.V. we usually watch late at night.
As for Draw the D.C. Universe? It was equally as fun. I'm not really an artist, but it was fun to see my drawings actually look like people and not stick figures!
Want to win these books?
Two lucky readers will win both Stamp Art and Draw the D.C. Universe! Wooo!

ReplyDeleteThose look like so much fun! My son (7) has been asking to do more crafts lately (aside from my knitting =)), and loves books. I think these would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to win one!
I'd love to win these because, well, money is tight and I am a firm believer in craft-y type gifts! These would be awesome for my own boys or for our Godchildren. Klutz books have never steered me wrong! These look SO fun!
ReplyDeleteIt would be so awesome to win these. My 10 year old nephew wants to grow up to be an artist and this would be a great starter for him.
ReplyDeletei suddenly REALLY want to win just because you don't like "easy peasy." for some reason, that phrase rubs me the wrong way, like the word "moist." it just grates. :)

I love these! I have 2 girls who would have a blast with a klutz book :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I believe that not I should win the books but my 3 beautiful children. My two boys are budding artist. The oldest has even had a piece chosen for the district wide art show. The skills learned through the DC book will further their artistic skills. My daughter (whom is 3) is not as talented as her brothers(yet), but is learning her shapes and colors. The Stamping book will be a great beginning for her.
ReplyDeletePS. I am not a pompis "butt", just thought this would be more fun to read than (My kids are great so I want to win.)
Sir Woofington III recieves my vote. I appreciate the variety of shapes used in the scenery for Sir Woofington and Lord Buz-a-lot.
ReplyDeletemy little guy would love this
ReplyDeletei'd love to have this either for my son when he gets older or to give as a christmas gift =)

I like sir woofington because he doesn't have fangs. Vampire pets are kind of creepy (as are vampires in general).
