It's Friday! Yahooo! Add a long weekend to the mix, and I couldn't be more happy.
For today's craft steal, I decided to steal Dejavu Craft's Corn Husk Wreath, which she linked up to "Tute"in Tuesday. Look at this thing. Isn't it amazing? When I saw it, I knew I had to have one of these babies hangin' on my door.
Unfortunately, I didn't read the instructions too closely, and that resulted in a HUGE craft fail. To make matters worse, I couldn't find any sewing pins, so I had to use hot glue. I guess we all can't be as talented as my readers, right?
Here's my awful wreath:
I really can't stop laughing. What was I thinking?
I tried to cover up the fact that my wreath well, frankly, sucked, by gluing a mirror from this project to it.
Go ahead and laugh. It's horrible. Needless to say, this wreath will NOT end up on my front door, sorry folks.
If I were you, I would head on over to Dejavu Crafts and check out all her wonderful crafts. You'll be impressed.

that.is.not.horrible. It's cute! For real.
yes its a fail but Im sooo glad you posted it. I always believe I have about 1 or 2 fails for every project that I end up loving. Im happy to learn Im not alone in this. Actually, when I look at your fail tho - Im thinking that if you peel/shred/rip? the sections into mismatched sizes and crinckle them a bit it may not be a fail after all.
Aw, the good thing is now it looks like a sunflower!
Oh.My.
Thanks for keeping it real!
Have a nice weekend :D
It's different from the original, but it's pretty darn cute!!! I wouldn't call it a fail!!
I like yours better!!!!!!
it looks like something you could use as a centerpiece? it's still better than anything I could do, lol!
I love that you shared this with us! LOL! Now I'm not nearly so intimidated by your brilliance. ;)
I'm SO laughing!! But only because I have a few 'fails' under my belt and I end up throwing them away and adding up the money I spent! Thanks for posting - I needed that! Have a good weekend-jen
I actually think it's kinda cute! You could hang it above a piece of furniture for sure! :)
Ha Ha!
Oh boy. Been there, done that. My favorite crafting quote (and one I have to recite often to myself) is: Never be afraid to make crap because it's the fertilizer for the good stuff. I agree with the shredding/crinkling, then maybe if you put it flat and set a pillar candle on it...heck, what do you have to lose? Thanks for sharing, we all need to remember that everyone has a fail now and then.
I LOVE that you posted this! So great:) Happens to everyone!
BTW- my fiance LOVES your blog name! He mentions it all the time.. He even told a couple of his friends about it! Haha!
It's totally salvageable! Just take the husks back off, tear or cut them into thin strips with points on the end, and attach them to your wreath base. You could probably use the glue gun if you can't find your pins, and still have a simlar effect. (It's cute like this too, just different.)
See now THAT, in a miniature version would be darling pinned to a cute jean jacket or cardigan...just sayin! :)
Wow! I love it!
How creative!
Thank you for sharing~
