The other day (a.k.a. last night around 1 a.m., the husband mentioned above said to me "we really need a chore chart. I don't help out enough around the house." Awww, right? I couldn't agree with him more (sorry, T!), so I decided to get right to work.
Initially, I wanted to make a chore wheel, but, frankly, I'm not smart enough nor crafty enough to figure out how! So a chart it was.
I really wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with this chore chart. First, I painted two canvases grey. I was going to have one canvas for Tyler and one canvas for me. Talk about overload! So, instead, I just used a plain white canvas. I like it that way. Lots less busy! Plus, the grey was so dark on the other ones it made me want to cry...Or, at least give up.
ANYWAY, after 15 hours of rambling, here is the final result.
One column is for my husband and the other is for me, if you didn't know.
To make the paper a little less flimsy, I attached every piece (minus the week days, those are Mod Podged on the canvas) to a piece of orange card stock paper. Why orange? I don't know...What I do know is that they're now a heckova lot stronger. Perfect, because I needed to add magnets for variety.I tried to keep the chores pretty basic. After all, we don't want to go into a cleaning shock or something. Basically, we each have 2-4 chores a day (minus Sundays where neither of us have any, and Saturdays where I tried to keep things very simple so we can just enjoy the day with each other). Thankfully my husband likes to cook, because I love not having to cook every. single. night.
I actually ended up liking this project a lot. Even if it did take me til 4 a.m.
Looks like my hard work paid off.

They approve.
Ps. Can I just say that I LOVE the new blogger editor thing? how amazing that I can get huge pictures without the hassle of Photobucket. My life in complete! Plus, now you can see my blog pictures, even at work with those pesky blockers.

You chore board looks really cute! I didn't know you had pugs.. I have two myself, a fawn and a black. I Love Pugs!
Very, very cute!!
Great idea! Cute doggies too!
Very cute chart!
Nice job...I especially like that you wrote the day each card belongs to on the back as well. (That is not something I would have thought of.)
I really need this-if only for Monday nights to remind my dearest Mr. Dude to take out the trash and recyling to the curb. Ya think it would be too rude to do up just a Monday chore list? ;)
What a fun board. And I'm so glad the pets approve!
I am hosting a giveaway and would love it if you checked it out!
Laura @ along for the ride
great idea, i might have to do that.
I love the idea of this for me and my beau as well!
And is that a cute lil' black pug puppy next to an older fawn pug??? I have the exact twosome!
My fawn is 4 and named Daisy and my black one is 1+ and named Bella
They are the loves of my life - I talk about them every so often and post photos too
this is genius!!! I need to do one of these......
Okay. I love the idea, but I think I love the pups even more! Too cute!
Very cute. Love this idea.
Isn't it so nice to have a spouse on board with the cleaning & upkeep of the home?
One thing:
I was wondering...are the pets on their own on Sunday? Noticed nobody feeds them on that day.
Is it a fast Sunday every Sunday for those little ones? ;)
I think it turned out darling! Now, how do I get my husband to help out with the chores? :)
Great idea! And you make it look so simple and easy to use, which is really important. I sometimes do something tricky and fancy and then find I don't use it at all!
Just popped over from Tatertots and Jello...
love the chore chart! it's very cute!
um, about the blogger editor thing...why don't I know about this?? I hate that my photos are not very large...I'm going to go have to explore my dashboard thingy after this comment..thanks for mentioning this, or I would have gone on the same, sad, small photo way as before...
