Do you ever have those days where you just want to sew?
Yesterday was one of those days for me. I couldn't get sewing out of my mind. Which, is so weird considering I am definitely not a sewer. I know how to turn the machine on, and that's about it.
So, I cut some fabric and this is what I came up with. It's not perfect, by any means... But, I am proud of my first real experience with the sewing machine.
There were a few mistakes (i.e. sewing a pin into the flower...Oops!) and a bunch of trial and error. In the end, it turned out alright, don't you think?
I'll be adding cute fabric for the inside soon. I just couldn't figure out which fabric to use. I'll get back to you!
What was your first sewing project? How did it turn out?

This is the second time I've been directed to your blog...I think it was meant to be...cuz I totally have the sewing bug right now (also not a sewer) But I'm going to make my daughter a birthday dress this week...stop by my blog later and you can see the results!
PS-Very cute Bag!
First project: My daughter's blessing dress. I started out with a pattern...hated the dress...so I made my own. Loved it!
Love your bag! I still need to try out the fabric flowers!
I honestly have no idea what my first project was. The first project I remember was making a child sized apron with my grandma when I was about 8. It had little red flowers on it. She had to do the ties, but I sewed the pockets and hemmed it up. I think she still has it at her house. Now my sewing machine is my best friend.
I love the fabric flowers. I need to think up a project to incorporate some of my own it.
P.S. Great Blog
Haha, the name of your blog made me laugh! Found through hooked on houses....my first sewing project was a halloween costume for my dog! A pink fairy! Your bag is too cute!
I just found my way over here from Hooked on Houses. I'm happy I found you!
And yes, sometimes I just have the urge to sew, even though I'm not a seamstress. In fact, my urge to sew right now is pretty strong, but I'm intimidated. I just need to jump in there.
It's a cute bag that you made!
When I was little I would mess around with my mom's sewing machine but never making anything recognizable. I just got my first sewing machine about a month ago and I must have gotten the same inspiration because I also made tote. Seeing how yours is cuter with the braided straps and fringed flowers, I think I'm going to need to try out another, cuter bag!
I love that you braided the fabric to make the straps. I might just have to borrow that idea!!
First sewing project: A jean purse when I was in middle school. Looking back it was awful!!
