My cute husband brought me a plain bottle home the other day. He told me that he had a "vision" of what I could do to it.
To be completely honest-- I didn't have the same vision. In fact, I had no idea what route I was going to go with that plain old bottle.
After lots of urging, Mr. Craft Pants finally talked me into trying his idea out.
First, I Mod Podged some paper onto the bottle. It looked cute, but a little plain. So, I added a bit of twine to it for a little more detail. Still, it looked too plain.
After adding the flower in, I still wasn't happy. There was just too much empty space!
So, I raided the pantry and found some popcorn kernels--But, those were too yellow.
I decided to experiment by mixing the popcorn kernels with a bit of black stain from IKEA. That seemed to do the trick!
Since I am way too impatient, I didn't let the kernels completely dry before putting them into the bottle. This stained the inside of the bottle black a little bit, and I absolutely love it!
Apparently, so did my parents' dogs.

Isn't my husband good at coming up with ideas?
