The First Craft

(of many to come!)

So, here I am ready to post my first craft for the world to see. I'll admit, I'm a little nervous.

A few weeks ago, Mr. Craft Pants bought me a decorative star. I was so excited because I had wanted one for a long time. I had a lot of ideas for that little star brewing up in my mind. And finally, one was all mine.

Once it was in my hands, I was terrified to do anything to it. I was so worried that I was going to mess up that precious star.

After debating in my mind for a few days what I wanted to do with that beloved star, I decided to throw all my previous ideas out the window and just get to work!

Here is what I came up with:

I'm very happy with how it came out. I just wish that it matched my decor. Dang.

I think that a star decorated that way would be perfect for a baby nursery. It would give the room such a great feel, don't you think?

So, tell me. Are you ever afraid to start crafting, or am I just crazy?

Okay, first, your blog name is *killing me* it's so funny. There. I'm dead. As for being afraid to start a project because of fears of messing up? Um. All the time. But I do like you did and jump in. You wouldn't believe the project fails I've had. It would be a rather fun linky party actually...
That star is adorable and anybody would be happy to get it. But you're right--perfect in a nursery. Happy blogging!

Would it work for any of those people who you are making Christmas presents for? Watch my blog because I do some ridiculously easy "how tos" and I sell at shows so I have ideas you can use. Welcome to the blog world!!!!!!

Your blog name is too funny! And seriously clever!! I can't wait to see how your blog develops. I'm never afraid to start a project. I just don't seem to have the time to do all that I want. Maybe if I weren't blogging so much...Nah! That can't be it! :)

Lovin' your blog name. Ha! As a Texas girl, I like anything having to do with a Texas star. Great job. Welcome to the fabulous world of blogging.

Thank you for stopping by my blog (This Southern Girls Nest) and commenting.

Your star looks great! I just love barn stars and crafting with them. I usually spray paint. I myself have been afraid to put paper on them. I will have to try it though because yours turned out so good.

Stephanie

It looks great! I always worry a bit too when I put my craft "out there" but so far I always received a positive response. Can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

Okay, I'm seriously loving your blog name AND your star. It's always a little nerve-wracking putting your stuff out there, but I'm so glad you posted! Thanks for visiting my new blog and inviting me over, I will definitely be back!!

Very pretty :-) I have a big star like this one that I painted copper. Now I'm thinking I might need to get more creative with it :-)

Don't worry, you're not the only one who gets nervous about starting a craft. Happens to me all the time. Which is why I have this huge collection of craft ideas in my head but no actual finished crafts!!

Thought your project turned out great! I know what you mean about being afraid to start something. I always used to hold on to supplies, waiting for the perfect project or the perfect idea. I had stuff for 10 to 20 years! When I turned 45, I decided to give myself permission to just forge ahead, figuring my son would have to use everything if I didn't. And it's turned out fine. So go ahead! Give yourself permission to fail. And be lavish -- use all your good stuff at once. You'll find more. And I bet you'll love the results, as least most of the time! xo
