This is my first attempt at making a pillow, I think it turned out pretty well.
(try to ignore the fact that there's still hot glue on the buttons...I'll peel it off, don't you worry! It just needs to dry a bit more.)
I would have liked to make the buttons into a cute bird or something, but I just couldn't make the shape right. So, my husband and my first initials went on there. Can I hear a collective "awww"?
I think this pillow will go great in our new apartment. I can't wait to decorate that place. It needs a lot of love.
Any ideas on how to make a dumpy apartment into something great? I'll be brainstorming a lot, that's for sure!

I'm really enjoying browsing your blog :-) Looks like great fun ahead. As for making an apartment great? Don't be afraid to boob up once in awhile... sometimes what you first think is a mistake ends up being the thing you love the most.
ReplyDeleteAAAAH! I love this idea! How did I not know about it? I think I'll do initials on mine because I heart monograms! Thanks for the idea! I love your blog (so following now!), I just discovered it through Thrifty Decor Chick. Your title kills me, I'm still laughing at it. I'll be sure to post a link back here on my blog when I finish my pillow.

This is so cute, I just love it! I'll be sure to link back here when I try it myself. I'm visiting here from DIY Day at ASPTL. I had to come look when I saw the name of your blog - AWESOME! My husband just said he'd even read a girly blog with a name like that! Haha! Very cute =)
ReplyDeleteso, so, so cute! must think about what I could do similarly!
ReplyDeletethanks!
Love the pillow. Especially the raw, natural fabric look. And I'm decorating my sad apt. too! The two banes of my decorating existence: Unpaintable WHITE walls. And the tiniest, grodiest bathroom I've ever had, with a smaller-than-standard, cracked plastic tub they WILL not replace. My blessings: The rest of the apt. Gorgeous wood floors, lots of natural light, spacious, with 40's character cuz it's old. I'll be watching for ideas...my fave style is Ikea contemp/casual.
