Yikes.
Last week I decided that something needed to be done with that little space. Something. Anything! So, husband and I ran over to Home Depot and picked up some paint. Apparently my husband is great at picking out colors, because I absolutely LOVE the color he chose. It was Martha Stewarts "Duck Egg"...So perfect for a little room that needed some spice.
After we painted the "room", I still felt like it wasn't quite what I wanted. So, I picked up a pencil and started drawing on the wall. This totally isn't like me. I'm definitely NOT an artist. As I was drawing my shape, I decided I should have probably used a stencil, but I was too far in, dang it!
Here's the "room" midway through.
It was crooked, but I was still smitten. So, I kept on drawing with my pencil, and going over it with my white craft paint. Finally, after hours and hours of sitting in that dang closet, I was finished. My cute husband even hung a shelf for me. Perfection.
(too bad there's a part of my design that went completely wonky. Try not to look too closely at these pictures!)
So, there you have it. My finished laundry "room". Hopefully it will help me enjoy laundry a little bit more.

I can't believe you did that free hand! It looks great!!! I never thought to paint my "laundry closet" but youre right- it would be much more enjoyable! Love it!
This is amazing! Would have never known you did it free hand if you hadn't said anything. You've got guts to do it that way, but it came out perfect! Now I really want to get our laundry room finished...not even drywall in there right now! yikes.
That is amazing that you did that free hand. I couldn't even find where it was wonky. Good times are to be had in that fun laundry room!
Wow. I'm amazed by two facts:
A. You have a hubs with an excellent eye for color.
B. You DREW that by hand.
Awesome job. Both of you!
WOW -- you drew that by hand?? Amazing!! I love it!!

Saw this on Jones Design Company blog...exact same template she offers.
@Anonymous, so did I! I Googled painting your own wallpaper and lots of fun stuff came up. I could have copied her template, but, I wanted mine to be MY original work, not someone else's.
This is adorable! How fun to open the closet doors and see this! I also have a laundry closet that is unfortunately still builder's beige, so thank you for the inspiration!
This is so neat! I love your finished laundry room! :)
