Last Friday, I decided I wanted to throw a surprise party for my husband Tyler. So, I hurried and whipped up a party invitation. Then, I invited a bunch of Tyler’s friends, who all graciously accepted. Seriously, Tyler’s (and my!) friends are the greatest.
I made the invite look like a ticket. This totally wasn’t my idea, though. I just googled and saw some invites I liked. Then, I just mixed them all together into one that I reeeally liked.
See how they’re orange and black? Yeah, that was me being a “cool” wife and having the party be Giants (Tyler’s fave team) colors.
That lasted about .2 seconds, though. Because orange and black reeeally weren’t working for a cute party. Like, at all. It was looking like Halloween up in hurr. So, naturally, I changed the colors to fit my aesthetic needs.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the shebang. I’m completely awful at taking pictures these days, so I missed a lot of pictures and all the decorations aren’t here. Dang! Oh well.
Also, sorry for the awful lighting! The party was at 6 and umm.. It was dark already when more pictures were taken.
Okay.
This wreath was one of my favorite projects to make! I love that it was the first thing all the guests saw and it really set the theme for the party.
When you walked in, there was a big pennant banner, but I have no pictures of that. You believe me though…Right? Phew!
And, on the wall was this lovely sign. Can you tell I am awful at straight lines? I hated it at first, but I ended up loving its quirkiness by the end.
There was also a little baseball for Tyler’s friends to sign, and a little line with pictures of Tyler (side note: baby Tyler looks SO much like baby E…It’s nuts. I’ll post the picture in a post later this week!)
Then, on the right there was the treat table, which included different homemade popcorns, candies, and a (lame) homemade cake.
I found these perfect cocacola glasses for each of the guests. I loved how they looked all lined up on the counter.
I totally forgot to tell everyone to take one home, though. So, now I’m stuck with 20 glasses. It’s a little ridiculous. Want one?
Seeing Tyler’s face as he looked at everything was so great. I also loved that he got to see all of his friends in one place. We haven’t seen some of our friends in a while, and he loved talking with them all and catching up.
He is the greatest, and I’m so happy that I was able to surprise him!
