I didn't send out Christmas cards this year. Want to know why? Because I'm lazy. That's why! I was too lazy to write my address on each envelope. Pathetic, amirite?
I thought about ordering address stickers, but with the hustle and bustle of the season, it just didn't happen. So, sadly, no Christmas cards for us!

Here's the thing, though. After the Christmas season was over, PSA Essentials contacted me about their custom stamps! As I browsed their site, I fell in love with the cutest custom address stamps ever. I knew that those stamps would be the cure for my laziness. Or...My mail laziness, anyway!

Luckily, PSA Essentials was nice enough to send me a stamp of my very own to try out.

But wait! It gets better (does that sound like an infomercial? Oops!...But, seriously, it gets better!)
All PSA Essential stamps are peel and stick--Meaning you can peel certain things off of your custom stamp and replace it with images to match the season or occasion. So brilliant.

See? Here's a Christmas tree alone on the left, and with a cute little border on the right.

Or, here's just a simple monogram with a cute border.

OR! Check it out, a cute little flower with my address around it.

I love that I can customize my stamp whenever I feel like it. So, I can ditch my address and use the stamp for something else. Like, say...Crafting maybe?

When I first received my stamps in the mail, I was a little worried about a few things.
1-Would the stamps lose their stickiness?
2- How the heck would I change the ink color?
3-Wouldn't it be messy to peel the stamps off once I was ready to switch them out?
4- How would I get the peel and stick stamp to be centered on the stamp body?

Luckily, none of those were even a problem.
1- Despite peeling and sticking the stamps over and over again these past few weeks, the stamps are still as sticky as ever!

2- The PSA Essentials site has great videos that show exactly how to change the ink out. I felt silly for even being worried about it!

3-The stamps were a breeze to clean off. I just used a baby wipe and they were as good as new!

4- This nifty little guy helped me line up the peel and stick stamps so they were perfectly centered.

This product is seriously awesome.
I tried to find something negative to say about this product, because this post makes them sound too good to be true, right? But, I couldn't even think of one thing I would change.

DIY Instagram Magnets

Anyway! I have been loving Instagram on my phone lately. It's just so convenient. Especially for taking pictures of my baby. I'm addicted to it!

Unfortunately, all of my Instagram pictures usually just stay on there because...Well...What else am I going to do with them?

Luckily, my sister gave me some Instagram magnets from StickyGram for Christmas. I fell in love with them. So, I decided to DIY some of my own to give to grandparents.

It was super easy. All I had to do was find some magnets (I just used magnetic ads that I didn't need anymore), print off my Instagram pictures, trim the pictures, modpodge them to the magnets, trim the excess magnet, and stick them to my fridge.

Who knew that stainless steel fridges weren't magnetic on the front? Not me!

Don't know how to print off pictures from your phone? Just go to your photos and click the little box with the arrow.

Then, click on "email photo" and email the picture to yourself.

From there, just print it off of your computer.

OR

You can go to FollowGram and link up your Instagram. All of your Instagram photos will automatically go onto your FollowGram account and you can just drag the photos you want off onto your desktop..

iPhone Chevron Wallpaper

Lately, I have been finding myself on my phone. A lot.
I feel like I'm always writing back to emails, checking blogs, texting, or whatever else all through the day.

I love that I have all of those things right at my fingertips. What I don't love? The fact that it's so easy to just "check something real quick", but then end up on my phone looking around way longer than I needed to be in the first place.

So...I decided that my phrase for the year would be "be present". This phrase applies to so many areas in my life. I feel like I show up to things and participate, but I'm never fully there because I always need to "check just one little thing" on my phone. Been there before? Tell me it's not just me?

I've noticed this happening more and more. So...I decided to make a little screen saver for my phone that says "be present"...That way, when I'm on the ground playing with El and get the urge to check my phone, my phrase for the year will be right there in my face and hopefully I'll decide to be more present in what I'm doing, instead of checking my phone.

And, I also decided to put it on this here blog so that you can use it, if you'd like.

And, here's just the plain chevron, if you don't like the whole phrase thang.

Don't know how to use a wallpaper on your phone? Easy! Just double click the picture you want to use and then choose "save image"

If "save image" doesn't show up after you double click, just take a screen shot of the image you want to use (click the top button and the middle button at the same time, like in the image below).

After that, go to your pictures on your phone and the image you chose (or screen shot) should be in there. Just click on the picture to view it.

Theeen click the little icon that has the arrow coming out of a box.

And click on "use as wallpaper"

After that, you'll just want to scale the image to fit your screen and click "set".

Then, it'll pull up a menu like this where you can choose where to put the image.

I decided to put the one with words as my lock screen and the plain chevron as my home screen, but I mean...You can use them however you want. It's your phone, after all.

Taadaaa.

Balboa Baby Shopping Cart Cover- Review

I'm not huge on worrying about germs. I don't know, maybe that makes me crazy?...But, I always feel like when shopping carts and my baby are involved, a good wipe down should suffice.

The ol' wiping method worked great for me. And, to be honest, I always thought the shopping cart covers other mamas were using were a little ridiculous. That is, until I realized that cart covers were for more than just protecting from germs!

Let's set the scene, shall we? Okay...So, we were walking around Home Depot. Just me, the mister, and the baby. Baby girl was buckled into the cart and having a grand ol' time ~~holding~~ chewing on paint chips. She looked adorable. Like, for real. I even snapped pictures (on my phone) of her moments before the incident.

See? Adorbs.

Then, out of nowhere, she lost her balance and smacked her head into the cart. I totally won worst mom award right then. My poor baby was screaming and had little bruises from where the cart hit her. OW!

That's when I vowed to start looking into cart covers. And, can I just say, thank goodness for Balboa Baby? They stepped up to the plate and sent me an adorable cart cover to review (in the pattern Suri).

I was so surprised when it came the next day (!!!!) in the mail. They had such great customer service. It was the first thing I noticed about the company.

Next? The shopping cart cover was SO.COOL. Not only was it the best pattern ever, it was also completely compact. In fact, it even folds into itself to form a little bag! How great is that?

Of course, we had to rush to the store and try it out. Baby E loved it! She was squealing the whole time. I especially love how soft it is! I don't have to worry about baby girl losing her balance and whacking her head anymore. The padding makes her feel secure (and protects her little body from harm), while not being too bulky.

Did I mention it even fits onto high chairs?

Really, I love this thing and am so grateful I got to try it out. I bring it every where now, and can't go more than a few steps in the store without people asking me all about it!

If you're in the market for a shopping cart (or high chair) cover, this one is for you!

pros:-Easy to use.

-Just the right amount of padding.
-Two loops for toys to hook onto (no more bending over to retrieve thrown toys. YAY!)

cons:
-I wish it came with instructions. I mean, it was easy to figure out after a bit, but the first time I used it I was a little lost.
-I should have gone with a darker color. Shopping carts are grosser than I thought!

Easy baby leg warmers

We went to Target the other day to grab some quick stocking stuffers. It was a huge mistake going shopping on the Saturday before Christmas Eve. Never again!

The good news is, I picked up two pairs of cute patterned tube socks. I have been wanting to sew her some knock off Baby Legs for a while now (since the $12 a pop for real ones just seems cray cray to me).

I know there's a million tutorials around for these online...But, I thought I'd share mine, just because I'm still kind of amazed that I knew how to even thread my sewing machine!

So basically, it went like this.

1. Gather socks. Preferably cute ones.
2. Measure your baby's legs and cut your sock at that length (leaving the top part in tact)
3. So, basically you have a pair of crew cut socks, and then the long tops separate.
4. Cut about two more inches off of the top of the "crew cut" socks.
5. Take that two inch piece, and fold it in half (with right sides facing out)
6. Slip the two inch piece over the long piece from step 2 (make sure all raw edges line up. You can pin if you need to!)
7. Sew them together at the raw edge and flip them open to see your brand new (knock-off) Baby Legs.

After all of that, you should probably find a cute baby (easiest step for me!) and have them model their brand new legs.

Be sure to stop and admire the chub.

She is loving them so far. I even got a smile. See?

I'm loving them, too! They have made diaper changes a breeze so far!

Wow, you guys. I am in awe over here from the amount of love you all showed to me regarding the direction my blog is going. You are all so supportive, and you have no idea how much that means to me.

My husband and I have been talking a lot these past few days about this blog, and what it has done for me and my family. It helped bring me out of the slump of having difficulty conceiving...It helped me to be strong and to feel important (for lack of better word?)...And, it has helped mold me into who I am today. As weird as that sounds.

So, as you can imagine, I am having a hard time giving it up. Receiving emails about people wanting to buy this place really made me feel sad. Which, I wasn't expecting. I thought for sure I would feel a huge wave of relief once I started getting people interested in calling this site their own.

It turns out, I'm not ready to give up my blog baby yet.
BUT. I am also not about to give up precious time with my real life baby.

So...I've come to a conclusion!

I know a lot of you aren't going to like it. I know I'll probably lose some precious readers. BUT! I know this is the right thing for me, my family, and my blog.

Are you ready for it?
One word.

MERGER.

Yup. I'm going to be merging Oops! I Craft My Pants with my shmop blog.

I'm sure you're wondering what the heck that even means. Basically...You will still find crafts here on Oops! I Craft My Pants. They just may not be as often as they have been lately. I'm still planning on hosting "tute"-in Tuesday and Moochin' Monday...So, don't forget to link up!
In addition to crafts...You'll be seeing a few giveaways a week (and maybe even some reviews). Each giveaway will be from a small shop, so they're bound to be crafty items!

Old post...Painted Christmas Bulbs

This post was originally posted on I Heart Naptime (last Christmas)...I totally forgot to repost it here. Oops!

Today, I’m going to show you how to make some seriously easy Christmas tree decorations. (Which can also be put on a ribbon, if ya know, you like that kind of thing).

Step one: Gather all the supplies. These include: paint, white Christmas bulbs, glitter, a paint brush, and (not pictured, sorry!) Mod Podge or glue. Also, this isn’t required, but you should probably have your phone (or a computer) nearby so that you can blast Christmas music on Pandora. It helps, I promise.

Step two: Begin painting Christmas-y designs onto the Christmas bulbs. I made some candy canes, a few snowmen, and some plain ol’ red polka dotted ones. Don’t worry if your lines aren’t perfectly straight, or if your paint isn’t perfectly even, it’ll hardly be noticeable later on.

Step three: Allow paint to dry. Sorry, no picture of this step. I know, it would have been really exciting to include video, even!

Step four: Break out that Mod Podge! Paint a thin layer over your Christmas bulb.

Step five: Roll that bad boy in your glitter, and let it dry.

Ta-da! You’re finished.

Unless….You want to hang them up on the wall instead of putting them on the tree. My tree isn’t put up yet, so I picked this option. I’m really sorry for the horrible lighting in these pictures.

All you’ve gotta do is grab the ribbon of your choice and string it through the bulbs one at a time. Once the bulb is where you want them to be, make sure to loop the ribbon back through so the Christmas bulbs will stay in place. I tried to take a picture of this step, but it was too hard one handed. I’m so sorry!

So, there you have it! A super easy Christmas craft. I would LOVE to see one of these made with children’s paintings. Pretty sure it would kill me with cuteness.

I am so excited to share my Christmas ornaments with you today. They were super easy to make and I love how they turned out.

To make these glitter ornaments, all you need are three things! Mod Podge (or any glue of your choice), Christmas tree bulbs, a paint brush, and glitter.

Gathering the supplies was probably the hardest step in this whole process! Because, seriously--These were so easy!

step one: paint with glue.
step two: cover in glitter.
step three: let dry.
step four: brush off excess glitter.
step five: admire those bad boys.

This week's mooch worthy project comes from Murphey's Law... Only Worse. Who made some pretty great Mod Podged glitter ornaments.

Isn't it great? I really really love hers. Mine isn't even half as glamourous. But, what can you do?

For mine, I took a church magazine that was all about Christmas. Then, I chose a great Christmas picture (of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus) and mod podged it on.

Paint Chip Christmas Garland/Advent Calendar

The other day I was at Walmart, and the green paint chips were just calling my name. They were like "Errrrika. Take us home with youuu. You could totally make something Christmasy out of us!"

So... I began making a little stack of paint chips. I looked around to make sure no one saw.
Right when I thought I was in the clear, the pain man came up and asked what I was doing.

"Ummm..." I stumbled.
"Well?" He asked with questioning eyes.
"...I wanted to make a craft. I'm sorry, I should have asked first!", I said while looking at something very interesting on the ground.

Then he said it! He told me the best news a girl like me could hear. He said that no one ever took them and to help myself.

PHEW! That was a close one.

Anyway, when I got home, I decided I wanted to make a Christmas garland. So, I started cutting out a bunch of trees from the different shades of green.

Then, I decided I should make it into an advent calendar of sorts, too. So! I stamped on some numbers.

Then, I just taped them to some fishing line, added some fun things for us to do every day in December (on the back of the paint chip) and called it good. Am I the laziest crafter, or what?

Moochin' Monday-- Christmas Bow

Hi everyone! It's great to be back after my (almost) week of no blogging! Man, I missed you guys.

Thankfully, lots of you linked up to last week's "Tute"-in Tuesday, so I still got my craft fix in. Whew! I was so inspired by that link up, that I actually got off my lazy bum and got some crafting done! I can't wait to share the finished products with you this week and in the weeks to come.

Anyway, this week's mooch worthy project comes from Sweetwater Style.

Her tutorial taught me how to make the greatest Christmas bow! I used it when I wrapped the giant painting in my living room.

I know, the scale of my bow is way off...But, I didn't have enough ribbon to make a bigger bow. It'll probably bother me all season, so maybe I'll just have to go buy some more!

But really, such a great bow tutorial! I can't wait to add these cuties to my Christmas gifts.

KLUTZ Book Giveaway

I could barely contain my excitement when I saw them! I was especially excited to try out the Stamp Art one. So, me and Mr. Crafty Pants broke it out one night after the babe was in bed.

We had a blast looking at all the fun pages and trying to recreate the images from the book. It was fun to make our own designs, as well.

I know, I know! Impressive, right? We're pretty talented in the stamping department over here. I won't tell you who made which one because, we're kind of in a crazy betting war about who's the best stamper. More on that in a second!

Honestly, this book was so much fun. It entertained us for hours, which was a nice break from the T.V. we usually watch late at night.

As for Draw the D.C. Universe? It was equally as fun. I'm not really an artist, but it was fun to see my drawings actually look like people and not stick figures!

I really think that both of these books would be an awesome Holiday gift for any child. And, lucky you! Because here's a coupon.

I'm not a very big pie fan. I'm not sure why...I just really don't like it. But, with Thanksgiving just a week away (whoa!), I thought I should do a little pie round up. Literally--Little pies!

Magnetic Cups

K, this is probably the easiest craft that ever hit this ol' blog. I know! That's saying a lot, because most of my crafts are super easy (I'm not a very patient person!)

So anyway, the other day, I was shopping and I spotted some magnetic cups at the store. I thought they were so cool because my husband (bless his heart!) leaves his water cups all over the house. And, for some reason it really really bothers me. The problem was, they were $20 for two cups.
Ummm! No thank you!

So, I decided to make my own. They cost approximately 80 cents each! Woo woo.

Are you ready for the crazy tutorial?

Okay, first gather your items

-a plastic cup
-Magnets
-and super glue (not pictured)

Then...You glue the magnet to the cup and you're finished.

Easy, right?

My husband told me I was really clever for making him that. I didn't tell him I stole the idea, so if you see him around, don't burst his wifey bubble, alright?

Oh, and since you're probably wondering, the cups (and magnets) held up great in the dishwasher.

Moochin' Monday-- Sock Monkey

I kind of feel like a broken record because all I want to do is scream at the top of my lungs "MY READERS ARE THE MOST TALENTED!"...And, isn't that how I am every Monday when I talk about the pervious weeks "Tute"-in Tuesday? I'm pretty sure. It's so true though, so let's just roll with it.

Anywho...This week I decided to "mooch" this adorable sock monkey that Ash at My Savage Life made.

I've always wanted to make a sock monkey, but was always way too confused by people's instructions. Luckily, Ash must have read my mind because her tutorial was awesome and even me and my "sewing challenged" self were able to make one. I mean, with a few sewing machine errors (hey! At least it was threaded this time).

Looking at the little guy makes me so happy! And, my daughter loves it just as much as I do. She will not let it go! Aaaadorable.

Around here, in the Oops! I Craft My Pants household, we love to read. We have so many books stashed in every little nook and cranny, hidden from everyone who visits. This is a shame, because reading is awesome, and not something that should be hidden. At least, I think, anyway.

I love the idea of doing crafts with books. I think they add such a nice little touch to decor and little gifts. And, who knew? There's more book page crafts than just wreaths!

Printable Recipe Card

With the Holiday Season in full swing, I've been all about making new recipes and sharing them with my family.

The only thing is, I'm guilty of pulling recipes up on my computer and whipping them up while reading off my screen. While this is super convenient for me, I almost always end up losing recipes once I close my computer.

It's the worst! So, I decided to make some recipe cards that I could file away and (hopefully) never lose a good recipe again

They're super simple, but I'm loving how they turned out. The color combo makes me smile, for some reason.

Anyway, I decided to offer them as a printable for you guys! Because, come on, who couldn't use some recipe cards?

To print them off, just go here to download the front (ingredient side), and here to download the back (directions side).

Once you have downloaded them both, print off either the directions or the recipe .jpg onto card stock paper. Then, put the paper back in, printed side up, and print off the other side.

After you have printed off your cards, just cut them out and write your recipe!

I decided to test my cards out by making some Pumpkin Cake.

It was so good!
Here's the recipe for those of your who love pumpkin like I do.

Pumpkin Cake

16 oz pumpkin

4 eggs

3/4 c oil

2 t vanilla

2 c flour

2 c sugar

2 t cinnamon

2 t baking powder

1/2 t salt

1 t baking soda

Bake at 350 for 25-30 min

Frosting

4 c powder sugar

2/3 c butter

6 oz cream cheese

2 T milk

Moochin' Monday--Painted Furniture

Happy Monday!
(I've always wanted to say that)

How was your weekend? Mine was great. Well, I mean, besides my whole little family being sick and it being too cold to go outside. But, ya know...Minor details, right?

Anyway! Last week, of course, you guys wowed me again with what you linked up to "Tute"-in Tuesday!
There were so many mooch worthy projects!

This entertainment center by Holly Do, in particular, practically called out my name, though!

Isn't it beautiful?

Right after I saw it, I remembered that my sister snatched up this little guy from the side of the road for me a few weeks ago.

I think it would be perfect under my T.V. Like, absolutely amazing, even!

The only things is--I didn't get around to painting it yet (because of the sickness and the snow, remember? bleh!)

So, I thought it would be fun to ask for YOUR opinion on what color I should paint it! I love the idea of adding more color to my home...I kind of want to paint it a mustard yellow. But, my couch is red. Wouldn't that be a little McDonald'sy? I don't know! What are your thoughts?

I'm the worst at this kind of stuff!

Bracelet Knock-off

The other week I was shopping at Nordstrom and came across this bracelet.

Isn't it great? Unfortunately, it was about $15...And, I hate spending money on things I could possibly make myself. Do you ever feel like that when you're shopping? It's an annoying habit, really.

So anyway, I decided to attempt making one. I think it turned out pretty darn close.

All I needed to do was buy the supplies, and get braiding.

Super easy! And, I loved the end result. I get so many compliments on it when I wear it out. Just the kind of project I love.

Moochin' Monday--Truffles

Happy Halloween, y'all! I'm enjoying the day dressed as the fairest lady in the land. With my little side kick Snow White, of course!

Anyway! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to see how many people linked up last week to "Tute"-in Tuesday. You should have seen my texts to my Mr. last week. They were all "10 links!" and like like "60 links!"...It was awesome. And, he loved every text (I mean, I bet...Right?)

It was super hard to pick something to mooch. As always! But, once I saw these oreo truffles by Live Life, I knew that I needed to make them. Because, what's better than Oreos, cream cheese, and chocolate? (Hint: Nothing!)

They were a huge hit, and I'll definitely be making them again. Hopefully I can get the drizzle on top down. Any suggestions? I mean, besides melting the chocolate on the stove...I'm too lazy for that!

I can't wait to see what you guys have planned for the link up tomorrow. Talk to you soon! For now, I'm off to gain about thirty more pounds eating my truffles.

Guest Post with Notes on Paper {a lesson in Twitter}

A few weeks ago right here on Oops I Craft My Pants something Erika mentioned in her post about her new-look blog grabbed my attention:

“See those social networking buttons over there to the left?I was too afraid to include Twitter, it still intimidates me” she confessed.

And upon hearing this I leapt into action!! [OK, so rushing off to open a new email message and copy a blog link isn’t exactly the energetic equivalent of sprinting to the Bat Cave and changing into a rubber suit ... but still, it’s the thought that counts, right?]. Because to me, hearing that someone is intimidated by Twitter does for me what the Bat-Signal does for Batman and I find I can’t not rush to assist whenever I know there’s a soul out there in Twitter distress!

Which is precisely what led me to creating this:

Tips for the Twitter Curious is a free instructional 9-part blog series I created to offer instruction, advice and encouragement to anyone who wants to know what the world of Twitter can offer them. And it was a link to this series which I dashed off to send to Erika who, I’m happy to report, has already moved from being Twitter-Intimidated to Twitter-Intrigued after reading through it, which I hope you’ll take as a recommendation!

But I didn’t only write it for those curious about Twitter, it’s also for those already on Twitter but who don’t feel like they’ve made the most of it yet and … it’s even for those who think Twitter’s a waste of time! [My desire to persuade the anti-Tweeters made me work extra hard on the series!]

In 2009 BT [Before Twitter] I was one of the Twitter-Curious myself. In fact, I was pretty much Twitter-Ignorant so I do know how it feels when everyone seems to already know what to do … and you don’t want to look silly by asking.

2 years on I’m still there, checking daily Tweeting pretty much daily with all kinds of fun, informative, personal, heart-warming, networking, friendly, networking and career-boosting experiences to reflect upon. And it’s these rounded, life enhancing moments which I wanted to make available to others when I put the series together.

So, remembering all those questions I had as a novice, which I worried were dumb, I made sure that my class covers the basics in detail and filled it with screenshots showing complete novices how to navigate around this brave new world:

Once the basics are out of the way the class talks you through some uses for Twitter which you may never have considered. Once you’ve made your way through all 9 posts you’ll have discovered:

Where to find everything on the Twitter site as there’s a full guided tour [Lesson 2].

Far from detracting from relationships in ‘the real world’ Twitter really can help you stay connected to those who are important to you. Equally it can provide you access to a near unlimited network of people who can inspire you, assist you and even help promote you. So, I decided to search Pinterest for some alternatives. I think these are all great.

More Boot Socks...Oops!

I'm so sorry if I'm sounding like a broken record here, but I made some more boot socks.

I just couldn't help myself. After wearing my lacey boot socks out and about, I knew I needed to make some sweater ones. I mean, I just had to.

So, I took an old sweater that didn't fit well anymore, and made me some socks...Well, maybe more like leg warmers.

First, I gathered my sweater.
Then, I cut off the arms.
After that, I put the arms on my legs over my socks (like leg warmers!)
And last, I folded the top over to the length I wanted (this also helped them be a little more "chunky")

After that, all I needed to do was put on my boots and I was good to go!

(ignore the ugly tile back there that looks like a dead mouse or something. Sick. I swear it's not)

I love how warm these are, and that they add a little bit of texture to my otherwise bland outfit.
I can't wait to head to a thrift shop and snatch up a really chunky and colorful sweater to make some boot socks out of (but, don't worry! I'll spare you the details.)

Moochin' Monday- Covered Pumpkin

It was so fun to see all the projects that were linked up to last week's tute-in Tuesday. I ended up pinning a lot of the ideas, and hope that I can get around to them one of these days.

But anyway, this week's mooch comes from Marvelously Messy. She made some fabric covered pumpkins that were just adorable.

I couldn't pass up a chance to do one last Halloween craft! Unfortunately, I didn't have fabric to cover my pumpkin with, but I did have newspaper! So, that's what I used instead.

I love that this project allowed me to add another pumpkin to my decor, without having to do any carving. I haaate carving (I'm bad at it).

Hello!! I'm so excited to be a guest blogger here on Oops, I Craft My Pants!! My name is Shalamar and I have a fun little blog called Obsessively Crafting where I share my attempts to be crafty. I love to craft!
I have 2 kiddos, one boy and one girl, and another boy due in a few weeks (thank heavens!).
I'm excited to share this craft with you guys!
If you're kids are like mine, they get bored in the car very easily. Trying to keep them entertained without crashing is close to impossible. I'm always trying to find ways to entertain them so I can drive....I've combined my passion for thrift shopping with my NEED to keep my kids entertained in the car and created....
RIDE-ALONG CHALKBOARDS!!

Supplies

Flat, hard board. (I think any kind of flat, hard board will work for this craft. You could even take a picture frame and some cardboard. Just spray the cardboard and replace it with the glass.)

Chalkboard Spray Paint. You can get it at Michaels or Wal-Mart.

Ribbon. 17-18 inches long

Fuzzy Fingers. See picture below for details.

Drill

Sandpaper

I found these cork boards at my local thrift shop and knew I'd want to use them for something, someday.

CHALKBOARD SPRAY PAINT!! Coolest thing I've ever seen!!

These are called Fuzzy Fingers! They make PERFECT erasers! They have a little pocket in the back to store your chalk when your child isn't using it. I got them at Wal-Mart for around $2 each. They're over by the home cleaning supplies. They're also kind of hard to find so if you can't find them, ask an employee.

Okay, here we go!!

Drill a hole in the middle of your board about 1" away from the edge. I used a 3/8 drill bit.

Very lightly sand the hole. I sanded mine a little too much.

Read all directions and warnings before spraying the chalkboard paint. Make sure you're in a well ventilated area and you've put newspaper down so you don't make a permanent mess on the floor of your carport or driveway. Trust me, you're husband will not be happy with you! I learned the hard way a while back...Always use newspaper ;-)

After your paint is totally dry, attach ribbon from the hole in your chalkboard to the loop on the fuzzy finger!

You'll want ribbon 17-18 inches long.

Quick. Easy. Very useful! My kind of craft. Enjoy!

DIY Boot Socks

I'm so excited about fall. Something about wearing jackets and boots just makes me giddy.

So, I decided to make some lacey boot socks.

Aren't they great? They were so easy, too.

All I needed was a pair of tall socks, some lace, thread (preferably in a matching color, but all I have was mint green (huh?) oops!), and a needle!

After I had all the supplies, I put the socks on to see where they would hit in my boots. Then, I just sewed the lace on by hand while still wearing the sock so I could make sure I got the lace on the right spot.

I poked myself a few times, but I'd say it was worth it!

Moochin' Monday- Sink Organizer

First, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who linked up to "Tute"-in Tuesday last week! We got up to 50 links. That's huge for me...Usually we only get around 25ish. So...Can I get a woot woot?

Annnyway. For this week's moochin' Monday, I decided to mooch off of Rain on a Tin Roof. She made this adorable sink organizer.

Isn't it so cute? I love everything about it!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a tin like that. Booo. But, luckily, the dollar store had a cool little gold platter that I could use instead.

Here's my version--I decided to use it in my bathroom as a way to organize jewelry:

It makes me happy every time I see it!

Ch-ch-changes

I changed my blog design. Aaagain. The other one was too light and kind of driving me insane. This new one? Feelin' like a dream so far. We'll see how long I can love it for.

Does anyone else feel that way about their blog? I seriously crave change after a month or so. It gets kind of annoying, but oh well!

Why hello Oops, I Craft My Pants.
I am Mandi, I am a momma to three little boys,

A wife to a loving and VERY understanding husband.

I was so shocked when Erika asked me to guest post.

I seriously did that whole cartoon open mouth thing.

My husband asked me if everything was okay.

So Basically to say I am excited to be here today is an understatement!

I am going to show you how I made this Spider Topiary.

I made it last year but felt he was so cute he deserved another post!

Here is my how to:

Supplies needed:

Fun Fur (you can buy it at walmart)

Floral Styrofoam form.

Wooden Dowel

Pipe Cleaners

Spider webs

Bucket

Start by wrapping the fun fur all over the Styrofoam.

Take the pipe cleaners and cut them in half.

Stick them into the body of the spider.

You can add a dab of hot glue to make it stick better.

At this point you can add eyeballs to your spider.

Now onto the bucket to place your spider in.

Paint your wooden dowel to whatever color you choose.

I chose orange cause the spider was already black and I wanted to contrast.

Put a little more Styrofoam in the bottom on the bucket and place spider webs on top.

Then all you have to do is stick the wooden dowel into the spider and place in bucket.

It was REALLY easy and took about a half hour to make!

Lace Craft Roundup

Homemade Wubbanub

Sorry about all my baby crafts lately. I just can't help myself.

Anyway, have you seen those Wubbanubs that they sell for babies? Basically, it's just a stuffed animal sewn to a binky and sold for $16. I used to think they were the most ridiculous thing in the entire world. Like, it blew my mind that people actually bought them (no offense to you Wubbanub lovas. I have since converted).

Then, I bought my cutie girl a stuffed animal caterpillar at the dollar store. She was eyeing it like crazy, and I couldn't say no (I know, I know. I need to get that under control by the time she actually REALLY wants something! I'm in trouble)...So, we snatched it up and it has been her favorite toy ever since.

She cuddles that thing all the time when she's awake. She talks to it, chews on it, and even laughs hysterically at it. I also noticed that she would bring it close to her face and cuddle it while sucking on a binky. I think that cuddling while sucking really helps her feel safe. It's adorable.

So anyway, now that I've told you (almost) our whole life story--I'll let you know that I decided to sew that little caterpillar to one of her binkies. Best decision I've ever made. It seriously took me three minutes, tops to finish this. And, she loves it so much. Perfect!

**Don't worry all you safety police out there (I'm a member of that club!), she never sleeps with this and I am always keeping a close eye on her whenever caterpillar man is around.

For mine, I decided to paint a little tiny one for my daughter's room. Her gallery wall had a few empty frames, and this was just the thing to fill one of them!

(ignore the corners of my frame. It's falling apart, apparently)

I ended up painting right onto the glass (I couldn't find paper. Don't judge me!) I love how it turned out. I've been sitting in my favorite corner with my girl and just staring at it.

I mean, hey. It's the small things in life, right?

Guest Post- Craft Buds

Hello Oops I Craft My Pants readers (one of my favorite craft blog names, by the way)! This is Mary from Craft Buds, a site I co-host with my friend Lindsay. We're so excited to meet you all! At Craft Buds we feature tutorials, fresh ideas for promoting and running your handmade business, and a weekly list of craft giveaways around the web.My son loves Elmo so I decided to make him a custom T-shirt with his favorite character. You can use the steps below to make a shirt for any character for your child.

The star of this shirt is a product I recently discovered, Tulip's Soft Velveteen Fabric Paint. After drying you steam it with an iron and it changes texture to a flexible soft raised almost rubbery feel. Besides using this on a shirt it would be great with number stencils, on tote bags, household items, monogrammed pillows, aprons, and whatever else you can think of!

The shirt I'm using is from Wal-Mart's Garanimals line. For $3.50 they have solid color boys or girls shirts (the girl shirts are cuter than the boys, as usual) up to size 5T. I found the Soft Velveteen paint in 3 of the colors I needed, red, black and white. They didn't have orange or yellow to mix with the red so I ended up getting a matte finish orange.I started by making a stencil. I then made 4 copies of it and cut out the openings for each of my 4 paint colors. I used card stock paper for my stencil. It worked okay for one use but it did start to curl a tiny bit after the second coat of paint. Freezer paper would have been a better choice.

I pre-washed the t-shirt and I put cardboard inside underneath the areas I was painting. I chose to do a bigger Elmo on the chest and a little one on the wrist so the wearer could see it.

I used repositionable Duck Easy-Stick tape to hold my stencil in place. This was especially essential for the extra mouth piece that wasn't connected to the main stencil. Just make sure to get the adhesive around your stencil so the paint doesn't bleed underneath too much. You could also use spray glue. Then I used a sponge brush to put on 2 coats of paint in each color.I ended up doing the red, orange and white with the stencil and just used a small brush to paint in the black. The paint bled a tiny bit under my stencils so I wanted to cover those imperfections accurately when I outlined the whole image in black.

And here's what I had after all the paint had dried for 4 hours (as the paint label recommends):

Now for the magic. After painting, the image was slightly textured from the way I used the sponge brush, but it was still flat. Then I heated up my iron on the steam setting and held it about 1/2" above the fabric while it was steaming (you have to have steam, just heat won't work). Then the paint puffed up and turned into a whole new texture! I tried to get before and after shots but it's still hard to see. The photo was taken when the paint was still hot and a little wavy. It smoothed out after it cooled.

Other than the drying time in between the different colors of paint, this was a pretty fast project.These two sites have both printable coloring pages and coloring-related games such as mazes, paper dolls, bookmarks, mobiles and more:

Easy Embellished Onsies

The other day, my husband and I were at JoAnn's in search of some more elastic for headbands.

I must be doing something right in my life, because instead of finding elastic, I ended up stumbling upon all the fancyshmancy ribbon.

It was all beautiful. I think I stood in the isle oohing and ahhhing for a good half hour (my husband is such a trooper) before I decided on these three.

Aren't they great?

What's even more great is all I had to do was sew 'em (yeah, I said sew again! I'm really starting to like that little machine of mine...Even if I'm still not that great at a straight line) onto a onsie, and I was good to go.

I love them! Especially this one. I dyed this onsie with some tea to get it to be a tan color instead of white. Peeeerfect.

a couple of months ago, my cute little sister showed me a SWEET way

to transform an envelope into a treat/gift pouch:

it really is awesome. and so easy.

shall we see what to do?

all you need:

an envelope

any size depending on what you will use it for

a glue stick
scissors

any embellishments you want to add!

start with your envelope:

glue the flap shut:

cut off abou half inch of one side end for an opening:

fold and score each side except for the end you cut.
(it doesn't matter the direction you fold it, you just need the mark.)

make sure to score the folds well.
it makes the next part easier.

no you are going to open the envelope
and sort of squish out your folds so are flat and make a square:

you will have the corner flaps left up:

put some glue on the flaps and fold them to the bottom:

and that's it!

add embellishments of your choice.
i shaped my opening and added paper & doodles to make it look like a popcorn bag.
i thought this would be such a fun idea for giving a movie gift card.

just slide the gift card to the movies right in!

Easy Bow Headbands

I decided to get a little more comfy with my sewing machine today. I mean, I know it's not amazing or anything--But it's progress! My machine was even threaded this time before I began sewing, and that's a feat in and of itself, right?

I made these little bows for my girl.

They look huge in the picture, right? They're not too bad in person, though.

See? Here's a crappy cellphone picture to prove it.

I love how they accent her hair. And, the elastic I used is so comfy and soft.

I dub this project a success!

Moochin' Monday- Yarn Letter

Last week's "tute"-in Tuesday was a huge success. Did you guys get a chance to click through everything. Wow! That's all I have to say. It was (yet again!) so hard to decide which project I wanted to mooch. So, in the end, I just went with the project that I had everything on hand for. Those are the best, right?

All I needed was some foam board (Haute to Sew used just plain ol' poster board though, and her finished product is rockin') and some yarn. Eeeasy.

Unfortunately, my "S" is a little crooked...But, over all I like how it turned out!

Sorry I'm so awful at photography. That yarn is actually yellow, not orange. Weird, right?

Anyway, you guys are the greatest. Thank you so much for linking up every Tuesday (that's tomorrow!) and giving me such great projects to be inspired by.

DIY Wedding {on a budget}

First, let me apologize for all the pictures. Wait, no. You'll thank me for them in the end, I promise!

Anyway, I'll try to keep my commentary to a minimum, since the pictures truly speak for themselves. Most of the pictures are by Nicole Carman Photography, but the ones from the luncheon are by my wonderful step-sister, Abbie. Go show them some love!

First, meet the bride. Isn't the the prettiest? I am so lucky to call her my sister.

And, she couldn't have found a better person as a husband. They are the sweetest couple, and it is so much fun being around them and their newlywed lovey doveyness. It makes me want to try harder to be a better wife to my husband. They're really inspiring.

For their luncheon, they had a picnic under a treehouse. It was so adorable. I especially loved the pennants they made. Okay, and I loved the Diet Coke. I cannot tell a lie.

Their reception was equally as cute. I loved all the little details, and all the hard work they put into making the decorations and sweets by themselves. Aren't those paper flowers A-MAZING? My jaw literally fell to the floor when I saw them. So much talent.

And, here are a few of my very favorite details. First up? The sign in page!

Everyone left their thumb print on the tree and signed their names. I love how it turned out. It makes such a cute decoration in their apartment, too! Plus, it gets seen more than a regular ol' book.

I also LOVED the back drop that they made.

It was perfect for pictures, and even more perfect as a backdrop for them to stand in front of during their line.

And, perhaps my favorite thing of the night. The cake! Oooh, the cake! My sister ordered a plain cake from the bakery, and then her and I put little chocolate pearls on it. I'll never forget that special moment I got to share with my sister on her big day.

Isn't it beautiful?

The night ended with a crazy (and random!) wind and rain storm. We all ran as fast as we could collecting little treasures from the reception and bringing them to safety inside the house. Once everything was inside, the couple shared their very first dance. I'm not sure there was a dry eye in the entire house. It was so perfect, and the best way to end the best day.

And, because I just can't help myself...Here's my little lady. I think she made a great addition to the wedding, if I do say so myself.

I don't sew

I really really really don't.

No matter how hard I try, that little bobbin does me in every time.

But, last night I decided to (attempt) to conquer that fear. See...I had this little number from Savers' 1/2 off sale a few weeks ago.

Sorry for the awful lighting. But, we can all agree it needed a little love, am I right?

Anyway, along with being a horrible sewer (seamstress?), I'm horrible at measuring. I like instant gratification, and well, measuring just takes sew (HA!) long. So, I just eyeballed every thing and started cutting. I messed up like 10 times, minimum. But, I blame it on my sewing machine and not myself. I mean, how come it let me sew for five minutes with no thread?

In the end, my battle with the sewing machine paid off. I'm lovin' the end result.

Don't you just love the accent weeds in the background? Next year we're getting grass, okay? Try not to judge me too horribly! I wore my TOMS in case one of those poky ones tried to attack me.

But anyway, here's a before and after side by side shot, just so you don't have to scroll up.

Hopefully my next few attempts will go more smoothly. But, for now, I'm pretty darn proud of myself!

Hey you guys! Lately, I have been getting a lot of emails about the Google Reader Tip I posted last year. So, I thought I'd better post it again for all my newer readers. After all, everyone should know how to use Google Reader's "NEXT" feature. It will seriously change your blog reading life.

The first step is simple. Just go to your Google Reader home page. Find where it says "Settings" and choose "Reader Settings" from the drop bar.

it may look like this:

On the settings page, find where it says "Goodies" and click on that.

Scroll down until you see this:

Follow those simple instructions (drag that next image to your bookmark bar), and your "next" button will be ready to use.

See it up there? Now, all you have to do is click it once and it will take you to your first unread item in your Google Reader.

Click it again and it'll take you to the next new post in line.

Isn't that fantastic? Now, your favorite blogs will still be getting the page hits that they so desperately deserve, AND you'll be more likely to comment since you'll be seeing the actual sites. I'm lovin' this feature, and I hope you do, too!

Moochin' Monday- Thumb Tack Pumpkin

Well...You guys did it again. The tutorials you linked up last Tuesday rocked. They were all fantastic! It was so hard to decide which one I wanted to attempt. After much debate with the husband (I did all the debating. He sat there nodding his head) we (I) decided to try out All in a Day's Monogrammed Pumpkin.

I decided to do a chevron pattern. Except-- I didn't have enough thumb tacks to do as many lines as I wanted to. Dang it! Pretend there's another line on there.

I'm totally diggin' the blue pumpkin. I painted it on a whim because I really wasn't a huge fan of the dollar store orange pumpkin.

And, the gold! Ah. Love love love gold these days.

So, what about you? What fun things have you attacked with thumb tacks? Anything?

I'm sorry about that lame pun up there. I hope we can still be friends.

Guest Post- Haute to Sew

Hello Oops, I Craft My Pants readers! I'm Meredith and I blog over at Haute To Sew. I blog about sewing (obviously), some crafty things I do around the house, and whatever else I feel like posting about.

That's me and the hubs :)

Like a lot of people, I have oodles of clothes that I don't wear because they don't fit me right, they're boring, or whatever. Sooo, I refashion them into something AWEsome!

Today I'm going to show you how to cutesy up your sleeves, with a little EASY sewing and a couple snaps.

I started with this yucky, boxy, totally NOT flattering shirt.

If you want to see what I did to make it form fitting go here

After I slimmed the shirt up a bit, I shortened the sleeves to 3/4 length. I'm going to be doing a tutorial on that early next week, so be on the lookout ;)

So I took what fabric I had leftover from the sleeves and I cut 4 strips about 9 inches long and 1.25 inches wide.

Place 2 strips right sides together and with 1/4 seam allowance, sew up one side, make a rounded top and sew down the other side, be sure to backstitch.

Trim off the excess around the rounded end (say that 5 times fast!)

Turn them both right side out, press, top stitch all the way around. Now you need to decide how much gathering on the sleeves you want and where you want to places your snap up strips. I didn't want very much gathering on these, but you can do whatever you like (I'm not gonna stop ya). So turn the sleeve wrong side out and sew a little box and X to make it secure. Make sure you aren't sewing both your sleeves together...not that I've done this or anything

Then place a snap over the little X and one on the end of your strip that's hanging out. Definitely check which way you are attaching your snaps! I used decorative snaps cuz they're pretty :)

OH SNAP! You just made your ugly shirt cute!

Of course you can vary the length of the straps and how gathered your sleeves are ;)

Moochin' Monday- Pallet Dog Bed

When Marvelously Messy linked up her pallet dog bed last Tuesday, I was blown away. I knew it would be the solution to all my dog bed problems.

You see, I have two pugs. Oscar and Tilly. They're super cute. In fact, I'm willing to bet they're the cutest dogs in the entire world. But, don't take me up on that bet, because it's like betting who's children are cutest...It's just not right.

But anyway. They're super cute, they're just weird. They do crazy things that make me think "um, what!?" all the time. Like, they bring me their dog beds when they're happy, for instance. Which, in turn, means their beds are ripped to shreds. It doesn't make this dog mama very happy, I'll have you know.

I knew something needed to be done about their beds, I just didn't want to spend $50 on a super durable one. Luckily, I saw this pallet bed before I forked over the big bucks.

For mine, I decided not to paint the pallet. Did I want to? Yeah. Really bad. Unfortunately, it took me so long to find a pallet that I just didn't have the time. Luckily, my husband found me a pallet with great coloring.

My husband and I (mostly my husband...But, I did cut off one board so I could say I helped...Don't judge me) cut the pallet in half so that it would fit into our little back room where the dogs stay when we leave the house.

After that, my mom helped me whip up a little dog bed slip cover out of some cute Ikea fabric and then we stuffed it with some old clothes and a sleeping bag that I've been meaning to take to the thrift store, but haven't dared to part with.

This project was so easy, and I love the end result.

It definitely adds some life into my usually dull back room. Plus, my dogs love it. Win win, right?

Hello Oops! I Craft My Pants readers!! I'm Kris, and I blog over at everywhere orange!

I am a wife and stay at home mom to a 2 year old boy. I gave up my job as a high school art teacher to stay at home with my son. Everywhere orange is my space that is just for me to share crafts, cooking and a little orange. Every Friday I share an orange item in my house. You would be shocked at how much orange is in this house!! I am a long time reader and fan of Opps! I Craft My Pants and I am so thrilled to be here today to share my zipper pouch with you. Let's get started!!

I adore the zipper display in the craft store. I love all the subtle colors and that is what inspired this bag. The color combinations are endless. I my favorite to do are color scales because the zippers have many color options in each color family. But this would be just as great with some high contrast colors. You could even make one using the colors from your favorite team. There are endless combinations!

The size of the bag you want will decide how many zippers you need. I used 7 zippers, 4 different colors. The zippers were 16" long.

Line up the zippers with the zipper heads in alternating directions.

Sew the zippers together with a 1/4 inch overlap.

Keep overlapping the zippers as you sew them.

All the zippers sewn together.

Unzip 3 of the zippers about 3 inches.

Fold the zippers in half so the zipper heads are on the inside.

I pin the zippers, it makes them much easier to sew.

Sew around the 3 sides.

Do a couple of backstitches over the zippers to make sure they are going to hold together.

Trim the extras. And use one of the unzipped zipper holes to completely unzip another zipper and turn the bag right side out. (wow, say that 3 times fast!)

The best part is you can unzip any zipper to get into the bag!

The pink bag was for my Sister-In-Law and the orange one is mine. I used shorter zippers for the orange bag.

Here is another zipper pouch I made with a strap. I made the strap our of fabric and sewed it in when I was sewing the long side.

I'm not sure if that even makes sense...So, I guess the real question here is, how do YOU answer back to comments?

Make a Stamp Out of (Almost) Anything

On Sunday I was bored. My baby was asleep and my husband was playing video games (bleh). So, I decided to craft.

The only issue was...I didn't have anything to make. I'm pretty low on supplies, and I'm also pretty poor... So, buying stuff wasn't really an option.

Luckily, I found some puffy fabric paint.

I thought about making some sort of shirt. But, then I realized that I didn't want to. So, I decided to make some stamps instead.

Really, this is the simplest craft I've ever made. All I needed was my puffy paint and random items that would have otherwise been thrown away.

See?

I used a straw, gum boxes, a Diet Coke can, an old dirty paint roller, and a ranch dressing lid. Don't worry, I didn't make my dog into a stamp, though it was tempting.

Then, I just started doodling with my paint.

The results made me smile. I mean, besides the fact that when stamped, the "e" will be backwards. Oops!

I love how simple it was to make these stamps...And, how you can literally make a stamp out of anything. So fun.

"Tute"-in Tuesday

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about starting "Tute"-in Tuesday back up. I've said it once, but I'll say it again. My readers are the most inspiring people around!

A Schedule

Hey you guys!

I'm so excited to share my new blogging schedule with you today. I really think it'll help me stay on top of this whole blogging thing. Plus, I love schedules. Or, at least the idea of them.

Okay, here's what I'm thinkin'.

And, here's a little explanation of each-- Because, come on, who even know's what "Moochin' Monday" is anyway?

Moochin' Monday- This is the day I'm going to "steal" one of the ideas from the previous week's "Tute"-in Tuesday. I'll try to recreate one of the crafts by following the blogger's tutorial, and post it here in all its glory.

"Tute"-in Tuesday- A linky party! Basically, you can link up any tutorial that you've written on your blog. Who knows, maybe it'll be your tutorial that I mooch the next Monday? So, have your tutorials ready! This paaaartay starts tomorrow.

A craft by me- is, well...A craft by me. I know, I know. Crazy, right?

Round up- This is going to be a group of projects I find online that fit into a different category each week. For instance, maybe the topic I choose one week would be a "red round up"... For this, I would post a bunch of fun projects I found online that are red. Does that even make sense? You know me, I'm a babbler...(So really, let me know if that just sounds like a jumbled mess.)

Makin' a Comeback

My husband and I were talking the other day about how I needed to take some more time for me. He suggested I start crafting again and become more on top of the whole blogging thing. Two things that help make me feel like me, and not just a mom.

I thought a lot about what he said. And, I've gotta say. I'm a much more pleasant person to be around when I get my blogging and crafting in. Weird how that works, eh?

So, anyway! I've decided to try and be better at keeping up with this blog. That means I'll be crafting more (so I have things to post), and it also means "tute"-in Tuesday is going to be making a comeback! I can't wait. I hope you all have some wonderful tutorials to link up, because I'm ready to copy you!

I've also decided to revive my blog Blogs to Know, which features blogs I feel like everyone should know about (imagine that!). Big or small. I'm kind of kicking myself, because over this last year that I haven't posted on there, I've found so many great blogs and forgot all about them! Hopefully this will help me be better about remembering them. Please feel free to follow along. Who knows? It may just be you who gets the next feature :).

Lastly, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you, my readers. YOU are the reason I love blogging.

Keeping Up With Housework

So, instead I'll say...Maybe, just MAYBE a random commenter from that post will win a special somethin'...Just maybe, though.

Anyway, I've been trying to come up with an easy way to keep up with my housework.

As I've mentioned a billion times before, it's so hard for me to find a balance with a new baby around. I just want to cuddle her all day long. And, when I'm not cuddling her, I'm usually on my computer replying to emails or Facebooking. I don't know, I guess cleaning is usually the LAST thing on my mind.

Thankfully, I found this awesome thing called Self Control. No really, that's what it's called. And, it blocks the Internet for however long you want it to. Seriously, it's so simple, but yet, so genius.

I've been using it a lot lately to help me keep up on my cleaning. See, instead of cleaning one day, I made this print out.

I just printed it out once and put it in a sheet protector. That way, I can use a dry erase marker and check off every thing as it gets done.

Seriously, this thing has helped so much! But, still I feel like I'm falling behind.

What are your tips for keeping up with your housework and every thing else in your busy life?

My Favorite Corner

I have been itching to create lately. It has been far far faaar too long since I saw down and took that special crafting time for myself. I definitely have so many ideas flooding my head, and I can't wait to tackle at least one of them.

Seriously, I have such a newfound respect for mommy craft bloggers. It baffles me how they get it all done. And, secretly, I think that maybe they have an extra arm (or two) attached to themselves and that's how they're getting everything done. I don't know though. I'm still working on proving that theory.

Anyway, I know I've already shared our nursery with you guys, but now I just wanted to show you my favorite corner of it.

Ah, I just love it. It is the perfect place to cuddle my girl. My best memories with my baby were made in that very chair. And, those bookshelves still kill me. I want them all over. Domestic Simplicity was seriously genius when she came up with the idea. And, that banner. Oh my goodness. I can't even form words about it. My mom is the best for making it for baby E (and me).

What's your favorite corner in your house? Do you have one? Maybe I'm just weird.

A few things

Hey guys. My posting has still been pretty patchy. Sorry about that. I promise I'm still thinking about you.

Anyway, I've had a few emails about my back to school lotions from last year.

Apparently, you can't just steal them off my blog like I thought you could. I'm so sorry about that. If you want me to email you the files, feel free to email me which colors you want, and I'll send 'em your way.

Also, I wanted to let you know that I started a new linky party on my other blog. I would love for you to join it. It's just a small one where we all post ONE goal for the week, then go visit each other and offer support. I think it'll be a great way to meet some new friends because the party is focusing on writing, and not so much on pictures. I'm super excited about it.

Okay, I think that's it. My sister's DIY wedding is coming up this Saturday, so be expecting pictures galore!

Wedding Hair Piece

The other day, my sister was talking to me on gchat (I love that thing!), and we were talking about how great her wedding is going to be. You guys, she is DIYing the entire shabang. Right down to her wedding cake, even. I can hardly believe it. It's going to be the best. I hope she lets me post some pictures of it...Because, you'll totally be inspired.

ANYWAY, as we were chatting, she showed me this awesome hair piece.

Is that not the prettiest? The only issue was um...It was $140.00. Um, what? Seriously. So, I told her I'd make her one. So, I did. Here's proof (and a tutorial)!

First, I gathered all the supplies. It was rough getting all three items. I mean, I haven't crafted in forev.

But, luckily, I managed to get all three items. Gold wire, beads, and scissors. WHEW.

After that, I proceeded to step one...Then step two...Then, well, you get the point.

Step one: Cut wire about six inches long. Thread a bead on that bad boy and bend it over.
Step two: Twist!

Step three: Take one of the ends, thread on another bead, and bend it in half.
Step four: Twist!

Step five: Add another bead, fold over, twist...
Step six: repeat 'til your heart's content.

Step seven: Make a few more.
Step eight: Twist 'em together.

Step nine: Make a few more bigger ones (like the ones from step eight)
Step ten: Twist them all together.

TA-DA!

Finished. Of course, I could have added more beads and it would have looked even MORE similar to the original, but I ran out of beads, alright? Oh well, what's a girl to do?

Disclaimer: I have NO idea how to use my camera off of Auto. So, I'm sorry for the crappy pictures. I'll try harder next time! I also apologize for my hair up there. I just got a mom cut, and so it was hard getting that little guy to look cute in my hair.

Our Nursery

First, I just want to say thank you to all of you who commented or emailed me welcoming me back. It feels absolutely wonderful to be posting again. Man, I've missed you guys.

Now, onto the nursery reveal.

When I originally finished baby girl's nursery, I absolutely hated it. I told the readers on my family blog numerous times that looking at it made me want to cry. Since then, I have gotten over those silly feelings and have grown to love the space that we have created for our little gal.

So anyway, here's the before picture.

Yikes, right? This room used to be my craft room (may it R.I.P.), and obviously I never got around to doing anything special with it. I guess that's what happens when you deal with fertility issues. I was seriously always thinking "there's no use in fixing that room up...NEXT month I'll get a positive test and it'll need to be a nursery anyway"...Sure, it took a few years--but now that room finally gets to be used for what it was intended for--And that makes me stinkin' happy.

And, here's the finished product from the same view.

This view makes me really happy because it reminds me how much my hard work paid off. Almost everything you see in this picture was painted by my husband and me (minus the crib)... We seriously did this entire room on a killer budget. More on that in a second!

For now, I'll just keep showing you pictures!

I copied those spice rack bookshelves from here...I just spray painted mine white.

Now, we just need a baby to bring home to this room, and it'll be complete. Ready for the cost breakdown? Okay!

I missed you. We're talkin' like...Really bad.

This morning I woke up with an overwhelming need to post on here. So, here I am! Apparently, I'm not very good at breaks. I'll be the first to admit it. But man, did the break (however short it may have been) felt pretty dang great. I even started crafting again. And, that's a big deal, amirite?

Here's a little update on me--Then, I'll post a craft! It'll be just like old times.

-I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my baby gal. She'll be here any day! Okay, well she'll probably be overdue, but I am pretending she'll be here tomorrow because it helps me get through the day.

-The Fairy Blogmother is going really well. Best "job" ever.

-We finished the nursery a few weeks ago. You'll definitely be getting the rundown on that sometime soon!

Um, pretty sure that's the entire update. Nothing makes a girl feel more boring than trying to type up an update and realizing there's nothing to write about. I need to get out more!

Okay, so now! On to a craft. Can I apologize in advance that most my crafts will probably be baby related for a while? Okay, thanks!

All month, I had been browsing Etsy for a cute handmade mobile for over E's crib. They were all really cute, but they were all sooo expensive. I just couldn't justify paying 50+ dollars on a mobile. So, I decided to take my favorite pieces of each of those mobiles, and make my own. And boy am I glad I did. Because look at this sucker.

I love it so much. And, get this. It only cost me $4.95 to make! Say what?

It was so easy to do. All I needed to do was punch out some circles, poke holes in each of them, and link them together using jewelry circle things. Sorry, I have no idea what they're called. The hardest part of this project was figuring out how many circles of each paper I needed. I'm bad at math, remember?

Speaking of the paper, I am in love with it! The chevron paper especially. It almost makes me want to be a better person.

I decided to go with double sided papers (minus the gray) because I didn't want it to be all white when it was moving around. They were a bit more expensive, but I love how they look together.

And, whoa. What do ya know? More pictures.

Lately, I have been feeling extremely guilty for never posting on this blog. And, it's really stressing me out.
Everyday, I think to myself "Okay, Erika! Today is the day that you are going to get a craft up on Oops! I Craft My Pants"...And, it just never happens.

In fact, thinking those things just makes it even harder for me to get my crafting supplies out. I feel like crafting has become something I do "for the blog", and not for my sanity, like it used to be. And, honestly, I don't like that.

I've been talking a lot to my husband about these feelings... And, thankfully, he let me know my feelings were valid (PHEW!) and that he noticed a change in me and my relationship with crafts. Specifically, I avoid them like the plaque now.

Isn't that so incredibly sad?

So, in effort to regain my love affair with crafting, I have decided to take a break from this blog. I know, I know, it seems like I have already been on a break...But, this break I'm planning is long term. I'm not sure when I'll start posting again, or even IF I will start posting again on this blog. I thought I should let you amazing readers know, and not just leave you hanging here without an explanation.

I'd also like to tell you all how extremely grateful I am for you. When I started this blog, I honestly didn't expect anyone to read it. I also didn't expect to meet so many wonderful people whom I can now call my friends. I am extremely lucky to have the readers that I have, and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me and this little ol' blog. You mean the world to me!

Again, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your love and support. It means the world to me.

Flower Brooch

Wow, thank you guys so much for all your support regarding my blog designs. I am so excited about this new adventure, and can't wait to have my website up and running (it should be sometime this week! I will keep you updated).

Anyway...You're not going to believe this. I have an actual craft to share. Crazy, right? It feels weird, but I think I like it. I've missed the ol' blog.

Today I did a really sad thing. I packed up all my craft supplies so that we could get started on the nursery. The nursery part is exciting, but having all my craft supplies in a box and nowhere to put them? Not such a happy thing. Hopefully they find a new home soon.

So anyway, we came to my parent's house for dinner tonight and my mom just knew I needed to do a little crafting to cheer me up. So, she showed me a little fabric brooch that she bought at a cute local boutique and we decided to try and make one like it. They turned out really cute, if I do say so myself.

Uhh...I feel like I'm blabbering on and on. So, here is the tutorial!
**Disclaimer: these pictures were takin on my phone because I didn't have my camera with me. Also, please ignore my ugly hands.

First, start by gathering all of your supplies.

You'll need: scissors, 2-3 circular objects to trace, fabric, pencil, glue gun, and a pin (not pictured).

Step one: trace your circles. You will need 4 copies of each sized circle.

Step two: fold your biggest circle in half once.
Step three: fold it in half again.

Step four: continue folding the circles into fourths until all circles are folded. Also, cut a small circle out of felt for the back of your flower.

Step five: Put a dot of glue onto your felt.

Step six: Place your biggest folded circles onto the glue, so that all together they form a circle.

Step seven: put a little glue on the corners to help keep them from flapping open
Step eight: Glue your smaller circles (folded, of course) on top of the bigger ones. Make sure to alternate them so that they aren't perfectly straight with the bigger circles.

Step nine: Glue on a button.
Step ten: Glue on a pin.

Now you're finished!

Here's what my finished product looked like. Thankfully, my mom was willing to model. Look how nice her hair is.

And here's the pin my mom made, using three layers of circles. I love it!

I need practice!

A good friend of mine is teaching me how to design blogs. I've had a blast reading some of her old custom orders and trying to make them myself.

The problem is, I want some practice that is all my own! So, I came up with an idea. For just $25, I will design a blog header and a blog background for you! It's a win win situation for both of us. I'll get the practice that I need, and you will get a bloggy facelift for dirt cheap!
